Don't Just Tell Us About The Pen You're Using, *show* Us!

No new pens here. I keep posting photos of the same pens over and over again, so this time only words. But I use those pens every day, especially my Pilot FA, my Pilot Falcon, a couple of my Swans, my yellow Sailor Sapporo and my Mercedes (you've seen them hundreds of times!) And you guys are like queens, never using the same dress twice! I’m waiting for some interesting nibs, though, and I'll show them as soon as they arrive :bunny01:

Measond; the green ink on the Pilot FA is Pilot Irushizuku Chiku-Rin. I really like both the colour and the shading!

Dcpritch: I was to say that I love all about your “mature” Japanese striped Sailor, and that was kind of it. Suddenly you posted a new photo, this time of a yellow Parker. I must admit, I have a thing for yellow pens, even more than for Japanese pens or pens with stripes. What I’m trying to say is … I don’t know… keep my fingers away from your collection… or something. I’m still dreaming of a yellow Pilot vanishing point…

I totally agree with you in that the fine nibs expose all the flaws in the hand writing. That’s why I prefer medium nibs, I think. Only the most courageous and skilled ones can use those fine nibs, like akustyk just to give an example.

Plistumi, I wish I could write like you! You could also use those fine nibs :)

Tringle: I love chocolate coloured dogs. Cool name for a dog! With a name like that, it is entitled to get it’s photo in this forum ;)

Pterodactylus: another great pen from your collection (TWSBI).

I had a Pilot Prera demonstrator for a short while, but I had to give it to a teenager to make her stop using those dreadful ball point dry ink pens (don’t know the English word for those pens, but you know the cheap bic pens and such). I think I’ll have to get a new demonstrator; they are kind of like those see through sea animals. Do I need it? No. Do I want it? Yes. Will I get one? Yes :D

Uncle Red: It seems you have a lot of different pens and inks. I wish you could show us some of your pens.

I should mention also that I've used the term "Skyliner" and, while Eversharp did use the name with an "r" at the end, very early on in their advertising, almost all later references are to the "Skyline". I think the better usage is to refer to the model as a "Skyline", at least that's what I've come to understand after listening to many who are very knowledgable on pen topics. I think my mind was stuck on the Streamliner and transferred the thought to Skyline, or whatever. ... Sorry, I'm rambling ...

Running to another meeting so I'm trying a different pen - the Ink-Vue was much too distracting! This one is new to me and, at least in my world, way off the grid - its a Japanese F point. I almost think I like it!

Wow, that's beautiful. I think the space between Modern and Vintage is occupied by Retro

Raths, are you using the "Upload" button? Resizing photos so the largest edge is 1024? Try those things if you haven't already. If you have, go to the Members Helping Members thread and see if someone can help you with technical advice. We'd love to have you contribute. :)

WSR, welcome to the thread, and to FPN! It's great to have you here.

There's no such thing as "slumming" as long as you have a fountain pen :). The whole point here is to see what folks are using and learn to appreciate pens and inks and paper we might not otherwise have seen or known about. Oh, and occasionally gawk at some beautiful handwriting or artwork when we are so blessed.

The idea (as you have immediately grasped) is to post with a photo of your pen and writing. I can't at the moment because the Board software won't let me upload from my iPhone, so please excuse my failing. Glad to have you!

Cheers, David

Jippiiiii! A new pen! Not a fountain pen, though, but I have to show it, because it is gorgeous! (ink: Füllhalter Tinte Günther Wagner)

OK, I got carried away: «beyond vintage» … what is that!? :headsmack:
