I'm rocking the tiny Watermans today. Three silvers and one gold. :cloud9:

Hi Stompie,

hmmm, this is really strange, I´m facing massive dry time problems with Golden brown.

Just to illustrate what I mean.

I turned over the page about 20 Minutes after I wrote it.

As you can see I almost get a hardcopy of the text on the other side.

Paper is Clairefontaine 90g/m2

I had a similar issue with red inks in my Bulow or Ahab - other pens worked better, but, those two pens were really bad for it. I, quite literally, wrote a short bit on some Red & Black paper, and, two days later, the ink was still very wet, in places...

Prvt. Toter, thanks for your prayers - the sun is out today. Yeah!

Stompie, we got 16" instead of 8 (more than a meter in a week - see how I converted to metric for you? :) ), then yesterday the wind blew like crazy and drifted it all around. FPN was down so I got lots of work done at the office. Today is calm and clear - a good day for boiling maple sap into syrup. Your Bamboo pattern Waterman's is exquisite.

Mukukaduk, great looking pen and handsome writing, but I think to achieve real line variation you will need a flexible nib (or a stub! ). If I had writing like that I'd be pretty darn happy - left or right handed!

Pt, I love the color of Golden Brown but I think it just does that on smooth paper - Rhodia, clairefontaine, Tomoe River - it doesn't matter, always happens to me. A couple of other inks do the same but I can't think which ones.

True, as smoother the paper the worser it is.

The worst ink I know with respect to the drying time is Private Reserve Tanzanite, great color and sheen, but the drying time and smear resistance is very poor.

Thank you all. Your kind words inspire me to post even more on this board. Speaking of inspiration: Stompie, your beautiful letter inspired me to send hand written letters to three of my friends today. I haven’t done that for ages.

Prvt. Toter: I’m sorry you were unable to sleep. The good thing about it (if any), is that you spent time entertaining us. Great sketch; I guess it is a self portrait and a self confession :roflmho:

Uncle Red: Good idea to turn the page upside down (except for the fact that it reveals more than I like to see).

mukukaduk: Great pen and ink! Those Edelstein inks are really beautiful. I’m waiting for Goulets to get the Amber ink in stock, and I dream of a yellow Pilot vanishing point.
