Thanks for the inspiration, David! I really like the look of the Pontiac. The architectural clip, the blue color and pattern, the gold accents... Everything clicks. Very thoughtfully designed, I say.

I'm stuck on Tomoe River, too. When I'm ready to order, I might get the sheets cut to A5. As Uncle Red notes, all three papers did well (unsurprisingly) and each offers a unique writing experience.

mukukaduk, elegant handwriting!

It's so nice to see everyone making such nice progress in their scripts

I can say this much - I knew/know next to nothing of the brand, myself, but, I am having fun writing with it!

Uncle Red:

The FA nib is really an interesting nib, very soft and delicate. As far as my experience goes, it competes with the vintage flex nibs. The feed, on the other hand, is not serving enough ink to this nib. I’ve “tuned” the feed by cutting in it to open air vents (see red ring in photo). The idea came from this video ["

by Nathan (“the Noodler’s man”), see 19,12 minutes from start. (Maybe the word I was searching for was “tampered with the feed”? I do not recommend this “tuning operation” unless you are willing to bear the risk of destroying a perfectly fine pen. That could very much have been the result of my experiment!)

Nice pens you’ve got there, by the way!

mukukaduk:

I can't understand why you want to change your handwriting! It's unimprovable (I think maybe I made this word up)

the top ink (in an osmia 662) is Noodlers Golden Brown.

The ink in the Pelikan is Noodlers Apache Sunset.

Zoniguana and Mukukaduk, I meant to view your writing this way. It let's you observe letter forms, spacing and slope without the distraction of the content. Consider my sample as a negative example.

So there is this Lady at our local post office who takes pictures of my envelopes to show to her Mommy.

I did this little note to give to her Mommy as she says her Mommy would love to get a letter like what I write.

Your drawings are great!

Listen, see if you can push the feed further into the pen, that might slow the ink down a bit.

Otherwise, try pull the nib out a bit as that can also help.

Yes, they came with converters, I thought they all did. Even my lovely little burgundy 330 had one, in fact it was exactly the same type as the calligraphy pens.

However, a small amount of silicon wax on the threads has worked perfectly, just don't fill the barrel too much, (I usually about half fill them), as the ink expands with the heat from holding the pen whilst writing.

Best regards,

Steve.

Hi Scrutineer44, and welcome to FPN. :W2FPN:

There is an endless amount of information to digest here, so dig in and have fun. You might want to start with an introduction at the New Members forum, and please don't be bashful about showing what pens you have, contributing to discussions, and offering things for the rest of us to see and learn.

(Mont Blanc 264 - OBB ..... Noodler´s Golden Brown)

I like the fantastic shading of Golden Brown and it´s colors, but it does not dry for eons even with a blotter paper you can´t really dry the sticky wet areas.

And it looks always different with every fill even with the same pen and bottle.

A great looking but not well behaved ink.
