After writing this I came to think: I hope I don't offend anyone wishing you all happy easter. For those of you not celebrating this Christian feast, I wish you all happy days ahead!

Ackerman Pump Pen with Pharmacists Turkish Nights

Thank you, Stompie! You provide excellent penmanship yourself!

I'm curious about the Ackerman Pump Pen. Does it work better than a "home made" dip-nib-founter-pen or do you have to clean it up every now and then? I tested out a Noodler's Ahab with a very flexible dip pen nib (brause rose nib), and it worked well for a while until the tines weren't aligned perfectly. After that, I had problem starting every new stroke. This pen worked best with thick ink, like ink for manga pens. What is your experience with this pump pen?

zoniguana, it is a fascinating ink. As you start to write it is a bright turqoise but soon dries darker and darker. I really enjoy it!

Rev, I have had mine at pen doctors and all sorts and stil I struggle with it and that is why now, it is a beautiful paperweight :roflmho:

inkheart that is very nice! You are tempting me to go back to my Blue inks!!!

line, the Pump pen eats ahabs and home made jobs for a snack before the main meal! It is a glorious piece of engineering beauty! I did a review on it under the pen review threads, some time ago so you may have to page back a bit. But, it does need cleaning however. Every 3 months should be okay :roflmho:

I use Pharmacists ink in both of my pumpers. I am using Zebra G nibs in them as well. It is a brillient pen and I would order a couple more if only the service was a bit better. That said, you will get your pen just no responses from the pen chap himself  but that is ok, if you are patient the pen will suddenly arrive out the blue!

To be honest though, I have not tried them with a Brause nib but I do not foresee a problem. I have stuck to the stainless nibs as they are not like the standard dip nib that does rust up and so on, which is no fault of the pen. Also I found the Zebra and Nikko nibs amazing for hairlines as well as flex - more than enough for what I do.

EDIT: That said, I just ordered another 2 :clap1:

line, superlative writing!!

People who are offended by the word Easter and such have loose marbles. I'm Jewish (a Jew living in a tolerant predominantly Christian country) and I will always derive pleasure when I see people of all religions practice them publicly and joyously and spread cheer and good will. :clap1:

Happy Easter to you and yours. It's all good.

How do you dilute?

Dilution means.. mixing with water. If you find your ink too dark.. Just add a drop of water to 1ml of ink and try again.

I usually just dip the nib in water.. to have an idea the color of the ink if diluted.

The more water the lighter (less concentration) the ink. Always test with small amounts.

Are we supposed to drink Stompie's home-brew as well as ink our pens with it?
