JazzDoc.. Not sure how to tell you this... but if that nib is Fine, then I am a blonde bimbo.. (you wish.. lol)

That looks like a medium to me. It might be marked as Fine, but it lays a medium line.. it happens.

Oh... BTW... you don't need to learn calligraphy. I love your writing, is very manly. ;)

(..and if anyone says otherwise, they are just jealous) :P

Fine/medium sizes vary a lot, that does look to be a European fine to me, and yes for a Doc, (retired or not) he has excellent handwriting.

(BTW I always pictured you as a Brunette...)

cyber6: You may be right about that MB nib (and you ain't no bimbo - unless you're a classy bimbo!). I can't really imagine my ever having ordered a Fine back when, and these are all pens I dug out from years ago. I compared the nib to others I have here (some by Montblanc) and it looked like a Fine, so I surmised (but then, maybe my others are all Broad!). Anyway, thanks for the compliment on the writing. I do want to learn some calligraphy, though - really appeals to me. B)

79spitfire: Thanks for the kind words. :D

Classy bimbo !!??.. That ought to be an oxymoron.. :P

I'll post examples of discrepancies on nib size/label. I have some kawecos, in one the fine looks medium on the other the medium looks fine :gaah:

So here you go... As you can see the first "Fine" is the broadest of them all.

Ink: PR Arabian Rose, DeAtrementis Aubergine, Sailor Sky High and Edelstein mandarin

Man, I absolutely ADORE this thread!

Close ups -

I gout this TWSBI 530 from raging.dragon at the last Toronto meet for $20, and even though the cap feels wonky, I put my 1.1 nib on it and I'm happy. :D

This is a slightly out of focus shot fo the nib on my new 0.9 Minuskin stub on a Prussian Blue Sheaffer Statesman. I've got to send my 1.1 Valiant out for repair, so this yummy pen will have to tide me over.

I keep returning to this thread. Wow what a fountain pen exhibition! Every pen is an art piece. Every nib is a juvel. And you people present amazing penmanship. I think, maybe, that this thread is a bit dangerous for me; it feeds my nib mania. I'll probably spend even more money on pens that I really don't need :notworthy1:
