Well! I need to stop being an awestruck viewer only and resume contributing some sporadic but well intended posts-- this thread is delightful. Hello to all!

Lovely collection of pens you got there!

Oh, by the way, Prof, I know I am on the other side of the globe but still to me, that picture looks upside down! :roflmho:

Love the Grande place, it's my dream pen, has been looking for ages.

Was just able to catch up with all the replies since I last posted now, and have to say, I LOVE this thread! Such a fun group. The comments about my pens not mirroring the ink colors cracked me up, because I've heard that several times from friends!! I can just never go all matchy-matchy, that's just plain weird. :P

Ridiculously addicted to my Lamy Safaris.

First there was the Waterman 52, then there was the Parker 51, and now there's the TWSBI Mini. Even the old guy thinks so:

I am getting rid of the Kiowa Pecan as it never seems to dry! Just a sample baottle, well, only half a sample left now.

That makes me want more brown ink!

I never had problems with Kiowa Pecan drying, in fact it has a reputation for being a 'dry' ink.

Whaleman's Sepia is another great color, but is a 'one pen ink', to get maximum color and reliability the pen has to be adjusted to match the ink.

(But oh boy what a color!) :puddle:

WOw, really, a dry ink!

I just ran my hand across the page and the Kiowa smeared all over the place!

Perhaps in the wrong pen?

It is in a Parker Lucky Curve.

But it is a sample bottle and so I am not even going to try it in another pen because there is not enough left and it will just be a worthless exercise of cleaning, flushing etc for a few drops taht are left.

For some reason the original post is not showing! It's probably the apple, sorry.

Hi and thanks for sharing the Jinhao 159.

I rather like the look of this fountain pen, so I've just ordered one as a wider-line pen for my favourite black ink; Aurora Black. I already have AB in an XF nibbed pen and it's so smooth! I can't wait to see it in this black-beauty with a M nib.

Best regard,

Steve.

Thanks for the review michaelggraham, it led me to a nice super-value pen.thumbup.giffpn_1363179986__jinhao_159.jpg

Compared, dimensionally, to my beautifully smooth Waterman Expert 1.

And it is also very smooth.

Well, since I'm compelled to post something in this unwanted double post, just for fun I'll show the size variation between my Pilot Murex cap and the cap from the Jinhao 159.
