akustyk, thanks for the compliment. I agree the 52 is an iconic pen - I sort of have a thing for the 52V models which are the same thickness as the regular 52, only shorter (alas, the 52 1/2V are too thin for me to enjoy using). The "V" stands for vest, and they are indeed a very portable pen. Some 52V pens are ringtops and some have clips.

I haven't used the D'A Khaki ink in a while and forgot how much I like it. I also have D'A Tabacco (spelled the way they spell it), another very nice ink.

Here's a pen I featured today on my Stub of the Day thread:

Hope everyone is having a great day - I plan to go home and shovel a foot of snow off my driveway.

I hope the snow storm is over in your area. We got completely snowed in, but managed to get the kid out to the bust stop this morning. It wasn't pretty :ltcapd:

Greetings Stompie,

I continue to be in awe of your hand writing.

Where/how did you learn to do that?

Also, could I please ask the name of the ink in the second row of writing below; the aqua/turquoise ink.

I think it will suit the new menthol Wahl Eversharp Skyline 50.

Many thanks, and thanks for your written comments.

Best regards,

Steve.

LOL, Steve that is my normal God given handwriting, I am working on the fancy one!

That ink is J Herbin Vert Reseda. I have no idea on costs or how good it is, it is a part of the samples I get every month, sorry!

Got several new inks not because I needed them, but because I couldn't resist Jetpens sale. So without further adieu -

Written with a Lamy Safari with a 1.1 on Clairefontaine. The missing ink is Diamine Umber.

I'm trying to change some letter styles. Boy are old habits hard to break.

I have been trying to,aquire a nice J for quite awhile now and can't seem to get lucky. I have never owned a vintage pen and this is the model i have been trying to pickup to start my entry into the vintage world. Hope i am not starting something that will become an obsession. I love the look of the copper J. Love the pics! Thanks for posting.

Hello jacksterp, I was reading your post and enjoying the inks you used when I thought; "Was that written with a LAMY 1.1mm Italic!? Then I read further and had it confirmed.

I was advised by a salesperson, when I first fell for these pens a couple of years ago, to go for the small italic - for a bit of line differentiation, and she was right. I now have four of them!

I love these pens, my four are all Vista's but recently I saw some of Stompie's awesome writing, which he'd done with a 1.9mm Vista - I had to get one. It's on the way over!

Then I noticed that LAMY offer Oblique nibs in Broad and Medium, so, yep, another's on the way too.

I like to match pens with my favourite inks, so I've branched-out into the SRC, (Safari realm of colour); a bright yellow for the PR Buttercup and, whilst not really an ink colour, a stylish white to distinguish it as the oblique-nibbed FP.

Luvin the jernee (Oops, not again!!)

Hope u r 2.

Best regards,

Steve.

I can assure you both that the M1000 nibs in medium as well as 3B are equally soft and springy. I would not call them (semi-)flex, though.

Once again, Quinden, kudos for your handwriting. Does your Pro Gear Realo have a music nib or is it one of those specialties?

Cheers,

Peter
