URGENT EDIT: AS stands for Apache Sunset okay!!!!

:roflmho: Well... that sounded slightly panicked (chuckle).

And ink drying time is a function of multiple factors, I would hazard, from climate to paper absorbency and even line width as well as ink flow. For instance, I use AS regularly for my flex nibs on Clairefontaine cahiers and find that it may smudge even a half-hour later in London while it takes mere minutes to dry in SA.

Not-so-urgent Edit: SA, my loves, is South Africa :P

Kyouju, where in SA?

O I would love to get my little monkey mitts on that pen! But the paper would be pretty exciting too! :puddle:

Be forewarned... I will eye-bang the bejeezus out of your pens...

Kyouju, where in SA?

Limpopo, for instance, or probably anywhere in Namakwaland. About the same drying time then, I feel, as what I get in several countries in Asia during their dry/hot seasons. The drying times seem to get longer once the rains come, though, in just about every country I have visited. I am obliged to note, however, that the observation made is unscientific and not an assertion I have tested under controlled conditions.

Here's what I'm loving today! And why.

'A1' minimum cost photocopy paper hastily swiped from a printer-tray as leaving school this arvo.

skysora, that Sheaffer looks like a great pen - they are very light, and with the Feathertouch nib it must be a dream to use. PS, sorry about misspelling your name in an earlier post.

akustyk, I recently traveled for a week with a Mini in my pocket - planes, taxis, ferries, golf carts - and never had any problems. Plus they hold a fair bit of ink.

Steve, is that Lamy Logo slippery to hold? I had a Rotring 600 with a similar looking metal grip and it slipped all over the place.

mhphoto and Stompie, I love when you guys get new pens and ink and show us what you got!

Here's what I'm rockin' today:

The nib has about as much feedback as possible without it being labeled "scratchy". Once you get writing with it you don't notice at all, and its Flexible!

I thought the vintage Skrip Melon Red would be a closer match to the RWHR on this pen, but the pen is a tad more orange than the ink. Any suggestions?

Subtle inscription of the Wahl-Eversharp name at the top of the cap. The whole inscription reads "Wahl - Eversharp / Made in Chicago, U.S.A."

Don't you love the swirls found at the end of mottled, woodgrain and ripple HR pens?!!!

On the right is the note that Yong sent with the pen. He writes it with your pen you order. On the left is what I write like which just goes to show how different styles can produce different effects.

Ah, North and inland. For some reason I always think of the coast first.

I was in Johannesburg for 36 years and then Durban South Coast for the last 11 before I came back home to England.

The weather is slightly different here :yikes:
