But really, around USD 40 a bottle? I cannot be the only one with a sense of something exquisitely troll-like headed our way courtesy of the persons at Caran d'Ache. As Uncle Red already mentioned dragons, I might as well do another quick sketch:

Yay for Internet memes! They are funny because, well, they are true.

For some reason the original post is not showing! It's probably the apple, sorry.

Hi and thanks for sharing the Jinhao 159.

I rather like the look of this fountain pen, so I've just ordered one as a wider-line pen for my favourite black ink; Aurora Black. I already have AB in an XF nibbed pen and it's so smooth! I can't wait to see it in this black-beauty with a M nib.

Best regard,

Steve.

Wow, as many have mentioned, you miss a day and you fall behind. In my case, I missed a week, and it took some serious (although very fun) reading to catch up. The last few days have been pretty spectacular. I love the art postings.

For those of you that respond to each post (I'm looking at you Uncle Red!), I have to admit I don't know how you do it but strong work. You all keep the thread going, and It's great to come back after a couple of days away and see so many new posts.

Rev - I hadn't seen your post on this page when I wrote the note with the Mini below. Glad to see you are still hanging out with us.

Not sure if it comes through from the description in the image below, but I am using the Ahab as a place to put inks I want to clear out of other pens (rather than putting them back in the bottles and possible contaminating a bottle). I figure it's better than wasting the ink, and if the ink ever has a bad reaction the pen can be completely disassembled for cleaning.

Rev, great to see you here again; same to you Eeyvind. I really like your idea of dumping ink into a cheapie pen - that makes more sense than putting it into a jar that you will never draw ink from, no matter what you tell yourself (I'm talking here about me).

Here's the pen I'm using today:

URGENT EDIT: AS stands for Apache Sunset okay!!!!

:roflmho: Well... that sounded slightly panicked (chuckle).

And ink drying time is a function of multiple factors, I would hazard, from climate to paper absorbency and even line width as well as ink flow. For instance, I use AS regularly for my flex nibs on Clairefontaine cahiers and find that it may smudge even a half-hour later in London while it takes mere minutes to dry in SA.

Not-so-urgent Edit: SA, my loves, is South Africa :P
