If you can write perfectly well with one hand, why try to write with the other?

I will share my reason for practicing with my left i.e. non-dominant, hand. I was having trouble changing my writing to Palmer method with my right hand. This I believed to be due to the relatively minor changes needed from my regular handwriting. I wanted to see whether it would be easier to learn to write a different script with my left hand or to keep at it with my right.

 

I was at it on and off for about a month. In the end I figured it would take the same amount of effort and there wasn't much to be gained by spending any more time on learning to write with my left hand.

 

The interesting thing was that I actually enjoyed the process of writing with my left hand even though the results were far from attractive. I don't know whether it was the joy of learning something from scratch or the fact that the progress was better than one would expect that made it so but it was fun.

Being left-handed is more about a state of mind.

 

If you are right-handed but want to suffer by trying to learn to write left-handed, I will consider you an honorary lefty.

In case anyone has misunderstood, I just want to say that my earlier comments on this thread were 'tongue-in-cheek' and shouldn't be taken seriously....it's just a bit of fun.

 

In spite of my great age, I'm really not such an old fuddy-duddy and I enjoy a bit of experimentation as much as everyone else. I should add, that I'll not be posting my 'other hand' writing on this thread, as I just can't do it! My attempts are much worse than anything else that's appeared on this thread, so far! :bonk:
