Waterman Safety Pen...how To Fill With Ink?

Ernest

Recommended Posts

Dear Friends,

My first ever Waterman Safety arrived from Italy today.

I am clueless to its filling mechanism.

I understand that is a eyedropper and you remove the small cap at the top.

i tried gently but it wouldn't bulge.

I am afraid I might damage the pen.

Some of you have this sort of safety pens.

Are there variations?

I am attaching a picture of my pen.

I would treasure your expertise here.

Many Thanks .

Yeah, test with water. Nice looking pen, the nib looks flexible too. What are the numbers on the bottom of the pen?

Make sure the cork is restored before you dump ink into it.

The Cork works.

I bought a safety without realizing that it is no ordinary pen..cork and all.

The Pen takes only about 1.5mls of ink.

Rather miserable for an eyedropper.

The nib was sold to me as a fine flexible.

But alas , it writes more like a Medium Semiflex.

I swab it with a Vintage Japanese Steel Nib...Fine Semiflex.

A couple of pictures to show my pen/nib and writing sample.
