Here's a review of my go-to dark blue, Noodler's Navy.

I really like the colour, but not the nib creep. Also, the lubrication is not the best. In my Sailor Pro Gear F the original Sailor Blue provides the necessary lubrication while the Navy feels insufficient.

Wow, just realized how bad the Brause sample is. I've got shaky hands today, it had to be blotted a few times to dry, and I think I see a cat hair… :gaah:

You're right about the lubrication, although I've run into worse inks in that regard. I didn't experience any nib creep that I remember, but I'll keep it in mind and try to include it in future reviews. :)

Is it my imagination (or my monitor)? I'm seeing a hint of teal (maybe more than a hint) in this.

Nope, it does have a faint teal tinge to it, and I think that's one of the reasons I like it so much more than PR Midnight Blues.

That bit of teal is one of the things I really like about it. This has been the dedicated ink in my Divina Desert Springs and they are a very happy combination. I haven't had any appreciable nib creep with this ink in the particular pen in which I use it.

I came here for the pictures and stayed for the conversation.

It's a gorgeous blue, but makes my nibs creep and drip like they have the pox.

Keep the reviews coming.

Thanks for the review, I may try a sample because I like the teal undertone. You have gorgeous handwriting!

How does it compare to De Atramentis Sherlock Holmes? I have a sample of that and noticed a teal cast in it on some types of paper.

I actually don't have any De Atramentis ink so I couldn't tell you. :( Hopefully someone here will have tried it though.

This is my absolute go-to BB. It does have some teal tones but they are quite restrained. (More pronounced in Diamine BB if that is your kind of thing). I use it as my manuscript ink when writing the first draft of my novels because I find the colour muted enough not to cause me eye strain during hours of writing, and I also like the smei-permanent quality - don't worry too much if the odd cup of coffee gets spilled (as it often does if I'm still writing at 3am!)
