Me, too. Many thanks for your comprehensive reviews!

Thanks Sandy. It's a great review. Now if I want to stop using CdA Grand Canyon I have a more expensive alternative. :roflmho: Neutral brown must be hard to do for some reason.
Hi,You're welcome! At times it is difficult to choose amongst wee luxuries, but to me ink is a gift to the reader, so I persevere with the choosing. :happyberet:

Oo, I like that. I certainly approach letters that way but I am the reader most of the time. I forgot that I got the Grand Canyon on sale, I'll have to look at this ink when the bottle's gone.

So do I! My recipients get multicoloured letters, paragraph for paragraph, with pen/ink details in the margin, just in case they are interested (or not) :eureka:

Sandy, thanks so very much for the review. Yours are always so thorough they make mine look very inferior, but I shall endeavour to improve. :notworthy1: Yama Guri has always been my favourite brown and until DIamine make a proper replacement (unlike Dia. Choc.) it will be used very sparingly. Next in line is Noodler's Walnut...

This being FPN, I feel compelled to keep the scope of Review on point - pen-based. I hope the dilution swab and wet tests are of some use for those who may also use ink in other ways, and that my comments on illustrations & graphics are relevant.

Since I use my fountain pens for sketching and for pen+wash drawings, I enjoy these on point pen-based reviews and find them invaluable. Your Wet Spatter test indicates how the pen-drawn line will wash, and what color components might be lurking there, and so is equally relevant to me.

I thank you for the rec of Grand Canyon. I'll try it!

Hi,

You're welcome!

Are you having new-to-you inks sent ahead to the hotels at which you have reservations? :)

Bye,

Hi,

You're welcome!

Py-g is indeed quite an ink. We do hope that the next ink is going to be even better, no matter the marque. But until then, the best ink is the one that's in the pen I'm holding. :)

Hi,

I'm glad that some wee bits, such as the Wet Splatter test, are relevant to those who also draw & paint with ink.

Your scanner tells me that in this ink there is more red than green and more green than blue. This is a brown of the highest order, if that is the case. Thank you for the comprehensive review, as always, and for unknowingly assisting me on my quest for a non-Epinard daily writer....

Great as always....

I know we have discussed this before, but I love the Pilot Iro inks. I still like Omas, Visconti and Diamine..... but Iro is just such a great safe and lubricating ink, that it just can't be beat, And of the Iro inks, uniquely to me, Yama Guri is an ink for all seasons and occasions. It is a subtle always appropriate brown with depth and gravitas, sort of like you.....

Your reviews are a wealth of information. Thank you.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Hi,

You're welcome!

Yes indeed, Py-g is "a brown of the highest order." There is an interesting balance of subtle complexity and stability which seems to hold over a range of values from light to dark.

As a daily writer apart from Sailor Jentle Epinard? Very well then! Your days must be far more interesting than mine've been of late :)

Hi,

Thanks for the compliment!

The iroshizuku inks have a certain 'style', both in terms of performance & appearance, that is quite appealing. :)

Even though yama-guri won the toss to take the place of the only other Brown ink I had at the time, (Parker Penman Mocha), the search opened my eyes to other Brown inks, so now I have an array of them, and my explorations continue - especially for inks that suit me when I'm not imbued with "depth and gravitas".

Perhaps it is the abundance of foliage and verdure that adorns my daily scribbling that has me tiring of it; I love the Epinard, but it has gone so long without a change, and what better to re-grow love for Epinard from than ... ... something... dirt-colored. Or perhaps I could spring some forth from the pure compost that was that analogy.
