How Much Ink Have You Eaten?

Yes, you read it right, how much ink do you think we have eaten?

I consistently have ink on my fingers and I like eating with my hands... over time I think I have at least eaten half a bottle of ink...

I know it is not poisonous (nothing too harmful in fountain pen ink, I think...) especially since I've only been taking small amount at a time but it is quite scary if you can sum up the amount that has went through your system!

Plus, think about it, some inks don't like mixing with others, e.g. there were claims that mixing some inks may lead to the melting of feeds (NO, I am not naming any brand and I am not bashing anything, just using this myth/claim to make another point), so what happen if you ingested them simultaneously? What are they doing to your GI tract? Again... just a scary thought.

Not paranoid, I have ingested worst, just something I haven't really thought of till now...

I wonder which ink tastes the best?! :roflmho:

My vote for the J. Herbin Rouge Bourgogne, it has a picture of some grapes on the bottle, that must be what it tastes like!

Years ago I had a friend who admitted to drinking ink when he was a child  . Inspite of his protestations, his blue lips and tongue rather gave the game away when his parents questioned him :o

Actually, he is still a friend and still with us so it can't have done him too much harm, though he is mad as a box of frogs

People used to lick the tip of the pen to get inks flowing as well, forgot to mention that in the post above!

I use to have a friend (when I was very little) who dip mechanical pencil leads into correction fluid/ white ink (those brush on ones) and eats it....!!!!

Akkermann black tastes best. Do not ingest more than one type of ink

in any given 24 hour period. If the mixture corrodes the feed in your

GI system, no reputable pen mechanic will attempt repairs.

DISCLAIMERS:

FPN does not endorse illegal "back-ally" pen servicing.

Pregnant women and children under the age of five should consult a

healthcare provider before eating writing materials.

I haven't ingested much ink at all. In the rare case that I get ink on my hands, I figure that if soap and water won't take it off, food won't either. Also, I tend to handle food with implements such as knives, forks, spoons, etc. The only nibs that I lick are clean dip pen nibs.

This is pica. You probly have some deficiency in minerals or something. We can cure that. Now about your pen habit, sorry, we got nothing for you.

So, what you're saying is that your friend is Cruella deVille (from the book _101 Dalmations_, not either of the movies) -- she was expelled from school for drinking ink! :roflmho:

This is pica.

I'll give you 12 points for that.

You better have that written in stone -- preferably agate.... :roflmho:

I still can recall one instance when I was a young lad, sitting in school and sucking on the end of a stick style ball pen, when all of a sudden I felt the presence of a foreign substance in my mouth that tasted kind of like the way ink smelled. I really can't remember what I did next, but probably had a blue tongue for at least the rest of the day. I've been pretty good at keeping it out of my mouth since that time.

Ballpoint ink is very different to fountain pen ink, it is much more sticky and gooey, like hot melted stringy cheese. :clap1:

One bottle a day, same as me with coke (I am completely addicted to that stuff)! :roflmho: Only difference is that a bottle of ink cost a lot more than a bottle of ink, you have some expensive addiction my friend! :roflmho:

We all eat a peck of dirt in our lives as my old dad said, what's a little ink here and there?

Dirt is natural, inks are chemical (synthetic)! :roflmho:

I wonder if someone drank straight ink, how well will the kidneys take it?! :roflmho: Will you be excreting inked "liquid" or your body has adsorbed the pigment?! :roflmho:
