This Airmail 444 eyedropper pen has become my go-to drawing pen. It has a nice, smooth medium nib, and it is well balanced and a joy to draw with. It holds a ton of ink, so I can draw all day, and often several days without running out. I'm a sucker for clear-body eyedroppers. :notworthy1:

I'm so impressed with the value of the Airmail pens I've bought through FPR. This little baby is built well, the plastic is thick and the clear body is CLEAR. It has a nice sturdy and springy clip, the threading on the section is well machined and precise. Everything is well finished and well detailed. It's a real workhorse for me, and a phenomenal value at $15!

I've ordered two more, and an Airmail 69T to try. Building a nice stable of drawing pens! :happyberet:

I just loaded an orange Airmail 69T with Diamine Orange, I have been dreaming of these two together for a few weeks now, and its wonderful! Have been very impressed with the fine and medium Wality nibs so far very smooth, with the fine having just a touch of tooth! Comparable and even better than some western made nibs in pens slightly more pricey.

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA

Just inked my 1362 and it is surprisingly well behaved. It is the first EF nib I have used in a long time that I have liked.

...

I just got my first couple of fountain pens. In return for editing some pictures for my brother's computer coding project, he ordered me a Camlin 11R from Fountain Pen Revolution. They generously included a free Serwex 101. I have to agree that, after I did some nib-feed alignment and nib smoothing, this is one of my favorite fine nibs I have ever used - smooth and with great slightly wet flow.

The Camlin 11R also required some similar adjustment to suit my tastes, but is now quite a nice pen as well. I think I may have made the nib slightly too wet, but I might be able to resolve that by seating the nib farther back in the grip section.

I have an Airmail 444 and another Serwex 101 on the way that my (now ex ) girlfriend bought me as a trade for a couple of my pens. I look forward to the 444 in particular, and will be excited to have another of the 101's. The 444 is a purple swirled pattern, which I plan to pair with Diamine Damson (if I receive it for Christmas )

Today I used my Ranga #3 (duofold) with the Wality fine nib. This was my first Indian pen and I'm in love with it. It's not terribly practical for school because it can't keep up with me (after about three pages of furious writing the feed needs a chance to rest and recuperate) but I love writing with it. Last night I ordered some maxi international ink cartridges for my other Ranga (custom made for a Jowo nib unit) so I guess I wanted to celebrate a little today by using the first one while its brother waits for the new ink cartridges. Hopefully that will let me use it at school without having to worry about ED ink burps.

Thank you, Ranga, for making such beautiful pens. They're wonderful to write with.

Hello to All,

Where do you normally buy your Indian fountain pens from ? (quality / price ratio).

And if I may ask, what pen would you recommend for a beginner with Indian FPs ? I am looking for something that looks rather neutral and especially with a good nib and that will last, not the cheapest thing but which won't really last.

Go to www.fountainpenrevolution.com and you will find a good choice. Dispatch is quick too. I've bought 7-8 pens from them.

Today I played around with a red Serwex 162. I worked with heat setting a couple kinds or nibs in it.

Do not let old pens lay around in a drawer, get them working and give them to a new fountain pen user.

Camlin SD- maroon colour with black Bril ink. The nib is smoothened over the past one year of writing and now its pure delightful experience to enjoy its softness while writing. The bril ink wets up soon, but i like the extra flow.

Once i tried parker quink with Camlin SD- and it was dry.

Since last week I've been using a pen which I believe is a Ranga Duofold. I purchased it some time ago from a third party and recently refitted it with a feed from a Sheaffer's calligraphy set and the original Wality nib. (Thank you again, Hari, for suggesting this modification.) The pen is very large, but well-balanced and comfortable in the hand either posted or unposted. It has a beautiful shape, including details like the roll-off of the cap lip, and is black ebonite, finished highly polished. The end result is a pen without the usual eyedropper vices, and one that makes you want to think of something more to write, just so you can use it again. Just a really pleasant experience.
