Today I am using my new ASA Sniper with EF nib, Brushed black section, Brushed transparent cap and barrel.

It has 3 in 1 filling but I am using as ED with Daytone Blue-Black ink

How is your general experience with FPR pens? Are the nibs smooth and do they have strict quality control measures?

I have had a very good experience with my FPR pens. I own the following FPR models: Treveni Jr. Ebonite; Treveni Jr. Acrylic and the Jaipur (piston filler). For the price point these are very nice pens, good QC, handmade and affordable. These are not high-end pens, but I find them a real pleasure to write with. All three of my pens have the FPR 1.0 stub nib, which is a very smooth steel nib. The 1.0 stub writes like a very meaty broad. If you are into fine or flex nibs, FPR also has them available. The Customer Service is on point. Kevin is quick to resolve whatever issues you might have. FPR also sells pens made by other companies in India.

thanks...i want to try one of their pens, but problem is dollar-rupee conversion makes the prices almost as high as rs 2000-3000 (price of a sheaffer sagaris, lamy logo).its the only reason which is keeping me from placing an order for one of those.

Recently an old thread about Prakash fountain pens was bumped on this forum detailing their ebonite models. Unfortunately they stopped producing pens several years ago but their pens had some nice, quality touches such as engraved feeds, nibs and clips. Anyway I was really pleased to see a pen on eBay just after reading the thread, brought it, received it today and inked it up. It is made of lovely celluloid with green and transparent stripes. Here's some mobile phone pics:

Nice!

Prakash, Pratap and Prasad are quite similar sounding to a foreigner. The latter two have been documented to some extent but the former is obscure, congrats on your find.

Today I am using my recently revived Deccan Advocate in green. I say revived because the nib was very dry when I first received it and then the feed clogged up. In a fit of impatience I put it away in a drawer for some 2 years.

Last week-end I brought it out, patiently cleaned out the feed, finally flushed it clean, noticed the tines were misaligned and adjusted this. It was still very dry. I then placed a shim between the tines for several hours and now, for the first time it flows beautifully and I am surprised at how smooth it is.

Gama Airborne which is inked with Rohrer & Kilngner Verdura. The nib is Ambitious and it is a wet writer eyedropper pen. This pen is an homage to Eversharp Skyline.

Of the four pens I have inked for studies, I am still enjoying the red F.P.R. Jaipur - 1.0 stub. Inked today with Chesterfield Capri. Smooth & wet nib; section comfortable to grip. Have had no problems with skipping, or ink dripping. Find I am able to write with this pen for an extended period. I have to admit that I really do like this FP.
