  • 2 weeks later...

In my current rotation are a Varuna Gajendra (EF steel nib) in green swirl ebonite, filled with Camlin Camel Royal Blue, and an Airmail 77P filled with Noodler's Q'Ternity.

This pen is on the way, but I have no idea who the maker is:

Still trying to figure out how to buy a few Ratnam pens from halfway around the world ...

Ratnamson 302.

I have visconti brown ink in it.

I asked for a medium sized nib.

Initial Impressions

  • Very smooth writer.
  • The finish of the pen is flawless.
  • It puts down a nice wet medium line for me.
  • Its a well balanced pen and its light for its size.
  • I am having some flow problems, it dries out on slightly faster writing.

I am using my Asa Galactic with Akkerman Shocking Blue in it. Plus a small purple Click with a transparent barrel that I got from Asapens as a bonus; it holds a mix of Ottoman Azure (Noodler's) and Diamine Majestic Blue. No pictures - everyone's seen the Galactic, and the Click is not so special to look at. But it is a nice writer.

Wonderful, nice to see a gold nibbed 302. I had some flow issues with my Ratnamson 42P, they requested that I send it back for them to have a look, it came back writing perfectly.

Did you get the nib personalised with your name/initials? The finish looks perfect.

The pen you are waiting for is made by Kim. It looks like Kim Nova but the clip is not the Nova one.

Maybe S-K can be of some help.

Hari,

Thank you for the advise, I have contacted Mr.Ramanamurty and waiting to hear back. I will send it back to them to have a look.

Yes, I requested him to put my name on the nib in Telugu.

A close look at the nib.

nice picture. Fully hand made 14Ct nib, nice engraving. I suggest you call them on the phone. It will be faster and you can communicate accurately in Telugu.

Looking at a post from Hari from 2011, it's known as a Kim and Co. "Small."

Mohan's post from 2013 supports this as a "Small."

My "Small" arrived in today's mail, ten days transit time from Palakkad to Dan Diego, with a couple of days sitting in New Jersey. A very solid pen, indeed, and it came with an extra nib. eBay seller krishnapens will be getting repeat business from me, I think.

A Ranga 2C is on its way, and a friend of my wife will be acquiring some Ratnam pens for me soon. :-)

Enjoy your Kim, Chuthulhu.

Yes, Krishnapens is a great seller, his pens are flawless, and the nibs smothed beautifully. You are right to stick to him.

Today I am using my Green Bauna costum made by Sree (S-K)
