Diamine Merlot - Swabs & One Written Sample

I decided to post these quick samples of the recently released Diamine Merlot prior to posting a full Review.

 

I hope this satisfies some curiosity, and that response to queries can be briefly postponed until the Review is posted.

It reminds me of Sailor Grenade. Pretty, but not a color I can get a lot of use out of.

I like the color alot but would like it to appear darker like the 3 swab sample. Perhaps with an addition of some black

ink in a recipe ink could be accopmplished also without too much trouble.

Looks similar to PR Arabian Rose to me. Not bad, but not unique enough for purchase at this point. Thanks for the swabs!!!

Oh my, I do not have Arabian Rose, so that wasn't included in the Swab Swami either.

 

I do tend to agree that DMer is not terribly unique, and has shown some problems with bleed- show-through, which are shown and mentioned in the Review.

As other Members have mentioned, it bears a similarity to other inks. I suggest looking at the performance profile, etc. of those inks too. Certainly worth trying a sample!

Indeed, alternates aren't hard to find. For example Diamine Syrah and R&K Alt Bordeaux. If this ink does have serious performance issues (I haven't read your review yet!), I'll probably pass.
