The 100 is the top of the range model with gold nib, designed to match or surpass the Parker 51. The 329 was a ground-up design as a budget model but they did such a good job it became a perennial best-seller. The "new 329" as opposed to the original "Star Trek 329" is a little less nice, according to most reviewers, and along with the 100 it is also faked quite extensively.

 

Thanks! I've been quite impressed with my 329, which I assume to be genuine; fine without being hair-thin, smooth and quite wet. I'd be happy to use it if I had to (try to) write a lot of legible text in a small space.

 

I don't know which version 329 I have. I'd assumed it was an older one; plain steel-coloured cap, but no "Nike flash" on the section, as I've seen on photos of some others. Is that what you mean by "Star Trek?"

With the proviso, only if you like fine or extra fine nibs. At least, I haven't seen anything wider on eBay UK, and few Oriental suppliers seem to make stub/italic at all.
