Early start tomorrow, ANZAC Day in Australia. A solemn Dawn Service followed three hours later by a Memorial Service to the fallen and then a march, so need an appropriate fountain pen and pencil to go with medals and uniform. Waterman Man 100 and supported by the with companion Man 100 pencil (and jotter).

best wishes

Nice pencils!

How does it feel in hand? I am asking because I was a dissatisfied buyer of Staedtler WOPEX pencils, I didn't like the feel.

Do you try to remove the nose cone? The inner tube may be removed?

the nose cone is inside the body/casing. under the eraser cap one can see the reservoir for the extra lead, but isn't coming out. it appears to be made of brass or copper and i'm afraid to damage it if i continue to try to take it out.

any ideas?

I've made some readings about your Eclipse pencil... The first of the kind, was the Wahl Eversharp. Eclipse takes the same road. Yard-O-Led too... See the following link. There are a diagram in a Yard-O-Led booklet showing how to dismantle... Good Luck!

Just arrived in the post...

I've think I've now graduated from 0.5mm to the thicker vintage style leads, more pleasant to write with provided you can rotate the pencil without the clip being in the way and these yard-o-led and eversharp are great for that.

Cheers,

Richard

Faber-Castell Perfect Pencil. It write very nicely.

thanx for the link. i'll check it out. mine may be a little different and my main problem is that i can't figure out how to disassemble the pen.

Almost all twist action pencils have a tube that work as a "reserve tank". The spare leads are stocked between this tube and the inner helicoid tube. The first step is remove this external tube. In the Parker models, this tube is press fitted. I remove it heating the tube with a soldering iron and cooling the base with ice.

I don't know what is your case, but some pictures may help to understand...

Incase it helps - here's a picture of my Wahl Eversharp with the section pulled out. Note, you can't just pull the inner section out (if I try, it pulls out about 1/4 inch), you have to extend the lead (twisting the top clockwise) until it stops coming out, then pull the top. Once the inner tube section is out, the very top pulls off to expose the eraser and that unscrews anticlockwise to get to the leads.

Cheers,

Richard

the problem is: my inner tube doesn't come out and the mechanism keeps going and going as i twist w/o stopping...
