I've got a whole slew with me today:

Houston Astros novelty pencil

Daiso Triangle Pencil in B

Daiso Triangle Pencil in HB

Daiso Triangle Pencil in 2B

Blackwing Natural

Daiso Golden Sword in HB

Musgrave Harvest

Staedtler Norica

CW Pencils Baseball Scoring

Nataraj Marble

I was in a pencil mood today. All of this is being carried in a Nock Pencil Pouch. I also have a Bostitch Twist & sharp sharpener and Sumo Grip retractable eraser. Last but not least, a bullet pencil made by MetalshopCT with a Field Notes stub in it.

At work, a simple Pentel P207. Plus, I just ordered a Pentel P205 from JetPens in red with red lead to highlight certain entries on my calendar.

I just sharpened my first ever Pentel Black Polymer 999. This one is a B grade and it writes with an awesome smooth deep black line.

Is the P207 that good?

Im shopping for a new propelling pencil, and it is the most recommended.

To me, it looks fairly generic and unremarkable. But if everyone (and so does DMP) agrees its good, then it must be good.

It's good to the level of cult status. It's fairly basic, but it's a workhorse, and in terms of an "upgrade" (a pretty big one, imo) from the standard ubiquitous Papermate and Bic pencils in most schools today, it's virtually indestructible. If you do manage to bend the tip or something, it's easily fixed or cheaply replaced. :)

Uni Kuru Toga or Pentel Twist-Erase, both with 4B lead. I enjoy having that metal lead protector, although it has the potential to turn the pencil into a stabbing weapon.

Unfortunately, I didn't do my research before buying the Kuru Toga. Its "self-sharpening" mechanism works due to repeated lifting and landing of pencil on paper...not great for someone who writes in cursive :headsmack:

You need to learn to write Kuru Toga style.

Black Rotring 600 0,5mm, which I bought just a few days ago, with whatever lead it came with. Incidentally, does anyone know for certain what lead that is? It seems rather soft for an HB...
