Vintage American Pencil Co. Velvet 556 No.1 in all its full-awesomeness!

"No one can be a great thinker who does not recognize that as a thinker it is his first duty to follow his intellect to whatever conclusions it may lead. Truth gains more even by the errors of one who, with due study, and preparation, thinks for himself, than by the true opinions of those who only hold them because they do not suffer themselves to think." -J.S. Mill, On Liberty

An awful Staedtler 172 no. 2 pencil I bought at a dollar store. Pack of 16, made in China, gray paint, I'm not sure what it's made of (wood chips + black plastic + glue?). The graphite is waxy and I can't write more than a quarter page of text before the point is completely blunt. Worst Staedtler pencil I've ever used. Going back to a Tombow 8900 right away.

A Graphlet 0.9

How do you like it?

I'm not really looking for a new pencil, but the Graphlet looks pretty nice. Maybe I do need another pencil...
