What Pencil Are You Using Today?

Office Depot has a pack of 36 Staedtler Norica + 2 erasers for $6. I've never seen non-art Staedtler pencils before although I've been a long time fan of their 2mm leads, so I though I'd give it a try.

Oh my. The lead in them is amazing, especially for $0.17 each. I now understand why folks buy them online.

Anyways, that's what I've been using today

At a local overstock shop I found some Papermate Mirado Black Warrior pencils. $1.27 for a package of 8!

I bought as many as I could.

I'll be using these for the foreseeable future.

Today I used a Pentel P209 that I got for $0.25 at the flea market. A classic that I used many times as a teenager.

Trying out Mitsu-Bishi Hi-uni today, in 2B, 4B, and 6B. So far...wonderful.

Mitsubishi also made some really amazing professional use mechanical pencils, which I might expect demanded top quality lead. I've known of their Uni leads, but didn't know that there's also "Hi-Uni". I have mostly Pentel lead but have been meaning to branch out and try Pentel Ain Stein, Uni NanoDia, and Pilot Neox.

Returned to the Caran D'Ache yellow school pencil, eyeing my Camel HB though!!

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA

Wow, that Kaweco looks chunky and fantastic. It must be fun to use, what with having the massive lead.

Yes, 5.5 mm thick. Lot's of fun.

Adding the Viking Element 2 to my shirt pocket today, like the Element 1, but with a ferulle topped eraser! Super smooth, and nice to hold with a matte finish.

Lee Valley wooden 2H has found a place in my pocket this day. Pink eraser sucks (did not age well - hard and useless). Find point retention and smear resistance to be great for note taking.
