What Pencil Are You Using Today?

I have my eye on a Wörther hexagonal 3.15 clutch in plum wood! Trying to get all different sizes of clutches in different woods because... well, because. Here's a picture of the pencils, plus an E+M 2mm X-Change in Light Oak. I'm really digging the zebrano, far more than I thought I would! The Duofold pencil is a bit beat up, but I like it. Too slim for sustained use, but great for quick notes and underlining.

Thank you!

The 1.18mm lead is a delightfull thing to use for almost any task, from writing to sketching...

The zebrano wood looks amazing, I'm again tempted.

As far as I know, it is the only way to try this pencil.

Hmm...too bad. I'm no longer willing to order pencils by the dozen just to see if I like them. I've identified pencils that I know I like and so if I make a bulk purchase, it'll be on them rather than gamble on a pencil I've never tried.

I am not absolutely certain but I don't think that we own even one pencil.

After an early career in government wherein I spend my days writing lengthy reports in pencil on yellow legal sized pads of paper that had to go to the typing pool for preliminary and then final translation into documents, I have no desire or interest in smearing anymore carbon dust. Viva la stylo à encre!!!

Mechanical- Autopoint 0.9mm Jumbo and Alvin Draft/Matic in 0.5 with F grade lead

Wooden- General's Cedar Pointe, Dixon Ticonderoga, Staedtler Lumographs in HB and F, General's Semi-Hex HB, General's Layout.

All of these are an arm's length away in my packed pencil cup :)

The Semi-Hex is, for the record, an excellent writing pencil IMHO. It's my favorite :)

Here to help when I know, learn when I don't, and pass on the information to anyone I can :)

Made by Dur-O-Lite, meant to be disposable, but easily refilled. :-)

I think today I'm gonna take out my favorite baby... ;)

It's humongouse!

:yikes:

Is it a clutch, knock or twist mechanism? It must be difficult to sharpen the lead and then retract it to a 'ready for drawing' position...

I always use my blue Pentel 0.7mm mechanical pencil.
