What Pencil Are You Using Today?

Hmmm...can't precisely recall the last time I used a pencil, particularly for writing...

Whenever it was, it pretty much had to have been a Faber-Castell Vario or a good ol' Ticonderoga, #2 or equivalent. Don't think there are any others in the house.

A Ritepoint in a kind of swirly gold and red, with 1.18 mm lead*

*I note this because this morning a packet of ordered leads arrived and I see that I have ordered 0.9 mm, which was a bit stupid as I don't have a pencil that fits this size! Will have to get one now. :)

Staedtler Mars Lumograph HB. I've decided that this is one of my favorite pencils for writing.

I have a good sized stash of USA Dixon Oriole pencils. They are the best I've ever used. Now if I could only find one of those Boston 2 (or 3?) cutter head hand cranked sharpeners. These electric ones I've got access to are junk!

Get yourself the KUM 1-hole long point sharpener. It's the best sharpener I've ever used.

Is buying a box of one dozen the only way to try a CDT 17 or does someone sell them in singles or pairs?

I've been using a 1940 Striped "Man" Duofold 1.18mm pencil that came with its fountain pen counterpart several days ago. Blue/Silver/Black. I like it so much, I think I need to find it a clip and new jewel.

And my E+M "Sketch" 5.5 mm lead clutch in Zebrano wood arrived today, so I've been doing some sketching with it. I am quite enamored by it's size, weight, and shape.

Pictures please! The Duofold sounds interesting...

;)

I've been tempted to buy a lead clutch by E+M many times but I always remember my Wörther's waiting for me at home and never take the chance. The Zebrabo wood must look good...

I have my eye on a Wörther hexagonal 3.15 clutch in plum wood! Trying to get all different sizes of clutches in different woods because... well, because. Here's a picture of the pencils, plus an E+M 2mm X-Change in Light Oak. I'm really digging the zebrano, far more than I thought I would! The Duofold pencil is a bit beat up, but I like it. Too slim for sustained use, but great for quick notes and underlining.

As far as I know, it is the only way to try this pencil.
