I am indeed very surprised, and happy, to find that this topic is still alive on FPN. Only 4 days left to complete a full year.happyberet.gif

not sure what your aspects on the pencil are though

Today's pencil is a Pentel Quick Dock 0.7.

The tip is retractable and pocket safe. The eraser is large and also retractable. You can buy erasers without buying a new lead cassette. I bought this pencil to see who the cassette system worked. I think Pentel is missing a marketing opportunity with these pencils. Only regular lead is available in the cassettes. I think they could really have something of interest is they also made colored lead available in the cassettes.

A tiny vintage ringtop pencil that appears to be brass. It uses fat lead and has the embossed letters "Pal" near the top.

So many pens, so little time!

I use Utrecht Drawing wooden pencils at home. Today I'm using an 8B. On the road I carry a Pentel P205 0.5mm mechanical pencil with 4B graphite.

I love the smell of fountain pen ink in the morning.

From my college days... and still using these today...

the 600 set cost me around $7 each back then... should have bought a truck load of them....

and a couple of early Zebra pencils that I like to draw with...

If you think everything is going well... you obviously have no idea what is really going on!

I am using Mirado Black Warriors HB2's. I don't like mechanicals because the leads are too thin but I need to try some. I need a dark lead. Dark leads are soft. Soft and thin? Don't know of any. I also like the stuff I'm writing to jump out of the paper to me.

Before you judge someone walk a mile in their shoes. Then if you still judge them you will have a headstart and they will be barefoot.

I have been using this oversize Sheaffer pencil with its matching pen most days since November.

Mitsubishi Hi-Uni F as well as my trusty P205, and the 2000 on occasion. The 2000 is actually pretty nice, and I haven't experienced more than 2 lead breaks through probably 20-25 pages of writing. I use Staedtler 0.5mm leads only because of the availability here. I wish I had the money for some nicer pencils, but those get me through the bulk of my writing with no problems.

Pentel Sharp Kerry .7 and Papermate Comfortmate .7

The latter I use almost exclusively for sketching and taking notes for wood working projects - and of course for marking the cut lines.

Very happy with both.

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice; damn

There goes that fox again.

I bought every last package of Mitsubishi Hi-Uni wooden pencils I could find in this 12 million inhabitants city I live in, Jakarta. Now the only wooden pencils available are from Staedtler, Faber-Castell, and numerous Chinese manufacturers. The German pencil companies run factories here, so their products are all over the places, which makes it boring to use. How many Hi-Uni could I find? 5 dozens.

For sale: M625 red/silver, P395 gold, Delta Fellini.

Over the years I stuck to using Jotter pencils and had the blue Staedtler Mars Micro 0.5 pencil as a spare for work.

Last year, I got a couple of fancier Parker pencils; a 45 flighter which was part of a set, and my favourite which is a black Parker Arrow with GT. The Arrow, although being a slim-line pencil is all metal, so it has a good weight and lovely balance when using it.
