today: autopoint twinpoint. red/blue in .9mm and graphite/green 1.1mm

the black and green didn't really exist. i combined them from different sets to have all 4 colors in two pencils -red, blue, green, graphite.

i use these for note taking and dry high-lighing. hmmmm, i think i mentioned this before... :hmm1: oh well!!!

This is the neatest set of dual mechanical pencils I have ever seen.

Don't use a pencil very often, but I have a sterling silver Cross (about 40 years old) still in pretty good shape. Wish I could say the same for the ballpoint that came with it :crybaby:

Why do you people need expensive pencils? They're pencils! I expect either wood, or a rubber grip and a big eraser. Not gold.

Why do we need fountain pens, one could also ask. There are those that like their tools to look pleasant (gold) and others that need reliable, comfortable implements for writing. I tend to be in the second category, and love my Pentel Kerry .5mm - $15 well spent.

Probably because it is a hobby, but I find with drafting corrections a comfortable mechanical pencil is better to use. That said, I found a box less one of Royal Sovereign pencils that my father had. Good though they are , they are not , to my taste, as good as a comfortable mechanical pencil. To each their own.

A good mech. pencil is as important to me as a good fountain pen.

I don't use wooden pencils any longer as I've already hit my cosmic limit for sharpening them. But I'm glad there's plenty of love out there for them still.

I usually switch off between my short gold filled Wahl ringtop pencil or my short gold filled Sheaffer nailhead ringtop pencil. I can lay them down in my pocket.

Like fountain pens I like to carry and use something nice and vintage to slow the world back down just a bit.

I don't have many but I also like the wonderful tech. pens out these days.

I love to see all the new fancier pencils out too. Thanks for sharing all!

How can you tell when you're out of invisible ink?

There are days at work where I use my mechanical pencil as much as my fountain pen. You do need to use good leads, and have a premium quality rubber.

Today I am using a Faber-Castell E-Motion pencil, with a thick lead- maybe it is a 1.3mm? The pencil is good for writing, it has a stubby barrel.
