Thank you for this information, Dad always treasured it as I remember from all those years ago.

Legendary pencil Co pencil.

Doug, how do you like that pencil? Which model did you get? have you tried color leads with it?

Sorry for the multiple questions, I am considering getting a pencil from Legendary Pencil.

Is it fair for an intelligent and family oriented mammal to be separated from his/her family and spend his/her life starved in a concrete jail?

I like it. As I age, I find I need thicker lead and this works nicely.  I did buy some colored lead but haven't used them yet.

One thing to consider is that this is like vintage pencils. You can twist and extract the lead but to retract you have to twist the other way and press down on a hard object to push the lead back in the body of the pencil.

How easy or hard, is it to twist the pencil and push on the lead, to place it back into the body?

I regularly do this with my 2mm lead holders, but it is a straight push down on the top of the lead holder to open the mechanism thus enabling the lead to come back in.

It does take a little bit of force.  It doesn't just slide back in.

0.9 mm Cross Classic Century that I got from an online charity shop a while ago. I don’t know what the lead in it was, but it felt like someone had read "granite" for "graphite" – must have been a 4H or so by modern standards. And the eraser in it was only marginally softer! Well, I never use the built-in eraser anyway, and with a modern Pentel HB lead in it, I quite like it, even though 0.9 is a bit fat for my taste.

Kaweco Classic Sport 0.7mm. It's transparent with gold accents and clip. Very pretty. I've put 2B Neox leads in it.

Will work for pens...

I'm quite utilitarian when it comes to mechanical ones therefore Kuru Toga 0.3 is natural choice, I'd love to invest in brands like Graf von Faber Castell but lack of 0.3 actually hinders me.

I use a roaring 503 vintage pencil _ 0.3 led size . Good pen that is very comfortable in the hand !!

Today it's a pencil from the Moore Pen Co. It's one of their earliest pencils, from 1922-1925, in BCHR, and it uses standard lead.
