Glass Pen Comparison

Yes, I own thwee of them. Some of the best pens I own. With practice you can write a whole page in one dip. I came at these originally from a glass perspective. They are made of borosilicate (old Pyrex-type glass) not the soft glass in the production types. You do not 'adjust' these yourself. Also, as noted on the website, Ernst unconditionally guarantees the pens; anything happens to them no matter the reason and the only charge is for shipping. Really nice people.

Thanks for the information. It's hard to tell sometimes if the glass is just pretty (for looks only), or if it's also a well-functioning fountain pen. This company seems to be the best of both worlds!

Thanks again!

May be good production pens, but try: http://www.glasspens.com/pens.html for really great pens.

I will concur that Michael Ernst's pens are fantastic. I have a few glass pens (Murano, Didier) and I've tried Ernst pens. The Ernst pens are truly great to write with... much better than the others. I don't have one but seeing this thread makes me want one now.

Going on the reviews in this post, I decided to upgrade my glass pen collection.

I ordered one of the Ernst pens. And all I can say is that I echo the statements from everyone else. Its unique, very solidly constructed, and is a very smooth for a glass pen. My J Herbins and R&K Glass pens can't hold a candle to this - granted they cost significantly more, the quality is definitively apparent in the pens. Thumbs up for the Ernsts and come with my highest recommendation as well.
