Chelpark Permanent Blue-Black

Hi,

 

As far as I know, Chelpark makes only Permanent Blue-Black, and there is no 'washable' Chelpark Blue-Black ink. Consequently, it seems that the same ink is referred to as both: 'Chelpark Blue-Black' and 'Chelpark Permanent Blue-Black'.

 

Indeed, though the Topic name is 'Chelpark Permanent Blue-Black', I used the abbreviation 'CBlBk' rather than 'CPBlBk' in the Review.

 

I apologise for the uncertainty that resulted.

Hi Sandy, I got the confusion from Hari's post where the ink cartons are shown bottom-up. It says for documents use Blue-Black and lower still it says Also available Permanent Blue-Black. But I am wary of using iron-gall inks. They can damage the paper & the pen as I hear.

 

as far as i know it is chelpark permanent blue black, also there is no permanent black in chelpark it is just black on the carton.

Thanks for identifying the source of the confusion. It seems that there is some uncertainty in the usage of the word 'permanent' on the packaging - apparently it does not apply to all of the Chelpark inks listed.

 

As to the use of inks with an I-G component, the modern ones designed for FP use are formulated to avoid problems with pen and paper than the ones that attack/ed pens & papers - those inks are/were dip pen inks. One does need to be scrupulous about pen condition, hygiene and usage when considering an I-G ink.

I'd not thought the smell of this ink was like a time machine in a bottle!

 

The aroma is described as 'Inky' under the PP&C heading, but to be more effusive I could've written 'Ye olde inky goodness, similar to Parker Quink with SOLV-X.'

 

Who needs artificially scented inks when we have au naturel inks like CPBlBk?

Oh Sandy,

Just when I build up the courage to review an ink here on FPN, I do a search and find some of your reviews...especially this one.

I think I'll go back behind the FPN bushes and peep out for another year.

This is such a good, in depth review I think I'll stick to reviewing Food Mixers for Amazon. Absolutely cracking, thanks so much.

As a writer I'm absolutely smitten with Blue Black and Grey ink, which explains the hours spent here on FPN gaining knowledge from the mighty.
