Caliber 100% Tree-Free Multipurpose Paper From Cvs

In August 2011, CVS Pharmacy had a sale on this paper (as a BOGO back-to-school item) and I stocked up on several reams. Now I can't seem to find this particular product locally, nor can I find much about it online. CVS does still sell Caliber products. I just haven't seen this eco-friendly one lately here in NC.

I've used this paper heavily for the past 6 months and have been happy to find an unlined sugarcane paper, always pining for Staples Sustainable Earth notebooks to come in unlined versions. (See my review for OfficeMax's Sugarmade Multipurpose Paper for a comparison to another unlined sugarcane paper.) The texture is on the toothy side and the sheet is a grayer white-- only noticeable when held up to other paper I have. Fountain pen inks and inkjet printer inks have always behaved well on this paper. There is some show-through, though tolerable (see the writing sample below... you can see a scribble show through from the backside). Overall, a good paper that may have questionable availability now.

This paper seems to be showing back up at CVS Pharmacy again. My guess is that this is a seasonal back-to-school item. Get it while you can!

I went looking for it, and bought a ream, when you first posted about it. My nearest CVS seems to have kept it continuously in stock. It is a decent, fountain pen friendly utilitarian paper, although maybe not for things kept long-term, due to the low tear-strength. The funny thing about that grey tone is that the paper does contain a brightener -- it lights up under a blacklight.

I picked up 4 reams and a premium tree-free top spiral notebook and the caliber version of a disk bound notebook with an extra pack of the paper and dividers to go with it. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, I hadn't noticed that about the blacklight-- I wonder what they put in the paper? Now I need to write on it with some of the Noodler's Russian fluorescent or invisible inks and have a party with it!

I didn't know this paper came in spiral notebooks. That's good to know.

It doesn't. I wasn't thinking when I was typing. The reams were tree free and everything else was from their "premium" line.
