@nick10 Thank you for your necropost to jumpstart and resurrect this ailing thread — which deserves to live on — with an artistically composed photo of the nib of your 149.  Its colour rendered by light tarnish and red ink residue is particularly attractive.

Thank you for your kind words, indeed this thread deserves to give on, we need to see more beautiful nibs. The patina created by this light tarnish makes this beautiful nib, even more attractive to my eyes😎

@nick10 I could not agree with you more, both that we need to see many more gorgeous nibs, and that your nib’s patina is everything!

A friend of mine hs asked me to help me sell some of his pens, so I took the chance of taking some photos comparing these pens with mine 😉

@nick10 Thank you very much for these exquisite images of these bewitching nibs!

The first photo is really instructive as to the impressive size of Montblanc’s #9 nib.

The second photo plays up the contrast between patinated and normal yellow gold — the patinated nib is incredibly dramatic looking.

The last photo is one I really appreciate because it features the “reverse” bicolour design of the 149 with platinum-plated trim, which I have only seen once or twice.

Throughout, your patinated nib remains the star of the show!

Again, many thanks for these arresting images!
