Help In Identifying An Old Pen

Recommended Posts

Still learning about pens but I got this pen as part of a group I won off ebay. It has "Imperial" down the clip. It has jewels(?) on both ends. Has a partially hooded(?) nib with no writing that I can see on it.

A few questions:

1) what is it?

2) How old? (I am guessing 1950s)

3) How do I get the nib out to clean? The sac is busted so have to replace it also.

Hard to say how old it might be and where it came from, but my guess is that it could be

from the 50's or 60's and from a country like Japan or one of the Slavic countries. It has

the 51-like styling of the barrel, but the lever-filler is a dead giveaway-by that time most

countries producing fountain pens were using newer filling systems. The clip is almost

Sailor-like in its looks.

BTW,I would send it to one of our well-known nibmeisters that frequent FPN.

Irony is not lost on INFJ's--in fact, they revel in it.
