Noodler's Dostoevsky

OK, so I mispelled it on my "test page". Oh well, not redoing it now! Lovely color. Not sure about the pen. I like how it feels in my hand, but uncertain of its writing feel. But Noodler's Dostoevsky does look really nice. The image on my screen looks pretty accurate. I expect it would be darker in a wetter pen.

Karen, thank you for posting these images!

I am anxiously awaiting Dostoyevsky, but from other comments, I had begun to feel it was going to be too bright for my tastes - your samples look just as I hoped this ink would look. :)

It is going in my Teal Pilot 78G when it arrives... should be a nice match in that pen too.

Oo. Yes, it will be nice in that.

heh. Yeah, my jury is still out on the pen. I like how it feels. The look of the line is nice. I'm even semi fond of the outrageous design. But not sure about that flow issue. I really don't think it is the ink.

Thanks for posting the review. The pen and ink look good together. Does Dostoevsky have that chalky look that some Noodler's colors have?

Like Luxury Blue? No, I really don't think it does. It is soft looking, but not dead. That is my only problem with Luxury blue. It is lovely wet, but dry it is pretty flat. This is just soft.

Here is a water test. I soaked it in a glass of water for at least 45 minutes. You can see the waterline, but it really really did well.

Ooh, this isn't just a lighter version of Squeteague, like I thought it might be. Hmm. I think some Dostoevsky might be in my future.

Isn't sanity really a one-trick pony, anyway? I mean, all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy . . . ooh hoo hoo hoo! . . . the sky's the limit!

From here it looks like the turquoise washed away, leaving behind a gray. Is that how it looks in person?

I know what you mean about ink flow in the Core. I'm having the same problem -- I like the pen, and it writes fantastically when it's wet (for example, if you dip it) but flow from converter/cartridge to nib is not what it should be (I mentioned this in the review forum as well).

Anyway, I think I really like Dostoevsky. Thanks for posting the scans!

Yeah, pretty much, but not a huge difference surprisingly. It's just less turquoisy.

Really pretty color, Chupie, thanks for the scan. I know it's been said before, but what a great match to the pen!

I am really falling in love with this color. I put it in a trusty Pelikan Go as well (so I could eliminate the frustration I'm having with the Core at this time) and it is just a very very nice color and very pleasurable to look at and write. I never expected to be so in love with it.

What is it about the Core some people find so repulsive? I love it! I am writing with mine right now (F), and although the nib isn't the smoothest I have ever tried, the ink flow is perfect, with Parker Black in it. I am going this afternoon to pick one (or two) more, to try the M and B nibs... I might even get one in that color too :) Great ink, and match...
