Question On Pelikan Bp

What can you tell me about this Pelikan ballpoint? It's the same size as a 400 and has the more modern metal tip. The refill has a white plastic extension that slips over the end to make it long enough to be activated by the push button. The total length of the refill is the same as a modern Parker, and while a Parker will fit in the pen and allow the pen to be screwed back together fully, it won't work. The tip of the Parker is too large to fit through the end of the pen--but just barely. Only the very tip of the ball comes out. Any info? Thanks

Your Pelikan ballpoint pen just looks like my 400 but seems to accept only Pelikan #237 refills. (Mine accept #337 refills)

#137 refills are for older Pelikan BPs and #337 (Parker type) refills are for current models.

 

#237 refills shown above are earlier model and yours are later one with white plastic adapter which must be removed when you use shorter pens.

 

The most important fact is, there are #137 equivalent refills still available from Schmidt, Schneider, Yard-O-Led and more but #237 is unique and already discontinued. Which means you have scarce chance to buy a new #237 refill.

 

I've made an adapter from an empty #237 refill which make it possible to use international D1 type refills.

I can show you later.

There should be a marking on it like 455 or something. Mine is a 455 on the cap ring.

I just got a brown tortise model that looks identical except for color. The refill in it is a Pelikan 337 which is identical to a Parker refill

Sorry for late response.

 

First -

 

Schmidt replacement refill number for Pelikan 137 is "1011M" but sometimes need adjustment.

Also 700M and 800M are equivalent to Pelikan 37. Your BP will accept them either.

 

I bought them from Cult Pens.

 

 

 

Second -

 

I've lost some photos previously taken to show how to make adapter from dried up 237 refill.

I will make drawings and going to post here within some hours.

Many thanks for the replacement details and pics.

Looking at your drawing, I should imagine you could also use a readily available longer straight refill and adjust the spacer length accordingly.

This looks like a 'Silver Star' ball-point. If it is then the yard-o-led refill fits it perfectly.

There are at least two models of "Silver Star".

One accepts 137 refill which is Yard-O-Led compatible, and the other needs 237 refill.

 

The tip of 137 refills are narrower than that of 237.

Here's a photo

 

 

 

These two BPs are almost identical in size, clip shape and surface finish except their refills and so their shape of barrel top (or end?).

 

The refill shown at the top is Schmidt 1011M.

 

And the next refill is my "refill adapter".

Its advantage is it's really easy to find a refill (you can find D1 refill anywhere and there are many variations including color gel refills) and easy to replace (simply pull out an empty refill and insert new one).

Really interesting!

 

I'll have to find mine and check which model it is. The only problem with finding stuff like this out is that there is now another model to add to the collection!

Hi Folks: Just received my black and chrome PELIKAN Corvett, and was quite shocked at the refill inside. Imagine a whole human body in groan mode. Was dead certain it'd be the Parker/Euro Universal model. NOPE! ((BUZZER)).

Tried something from YARD-O-LED, the amazon source, and it was a chop shop 'adjustment', and it gives me the creeps. I had to chop off the end and then cut in the end, a groove, which still doesn't quite fit the node inside the cap insides, and the refill sticks out a bit. But the painful part is that I don't know if I've ruined the pen. The numbers on the refill, which looks like a PaperMate Deluxe Jumbo writer, with a too long end, and the number is: Refill 1011 M. And there's an ISO 12757-2 G1. Attached is a photo to see the jury-rigging I went through.

HEY! Thanks for the Schneider 75 tip. I've got a Schmidt 700 on the way, but it's all metal body, and the little metal extension around the business end scares me. I've tried and failed with the "adjustment" of a 1011 from YARD-O-LED, still too long and poking out the point. I had to cut it. Then saw the back end a bit to get the groove the 137 has. SCARY BUSINESS. Schneider Express 225 M is no good, won't click fit in the back of the Pelikan Corvett at all. And doesn't retract properly. The point just hangs like a shirt tail out one's fly. It's a great bet for the old PaperMate Profile, slim, regular, and Husky. But NO WAY for my Pelikan Corvett. I'm going to try the Schmidt 700 when it arrives of course, hope I don't have to get at it with a nail file or sandy paper for metal, to shave off that damn ring hanging around it's middle. (What kind of pen does that work with?) P.S. There are pictures of the 37 and are available from a site in Italy. But I don't know. I'll do it if I know for sure, or, if the 700 doesn't work. Maybe I should any way. And order the 37 as well. I mean, at this point, I'll know for sure what DOESN'T work, and I will FULLY inform the nets as well as Chartpak, the folks who've been looking for me from the USA end...Thanks for your time.
