Osmiroid "easy-Change" Nib Units

HDRoot

Recommended Posts

Somebody gave me a handful of Osmiroid "Quick-Change" calligraphic nib units. I've found enough info here to determine that they're the earlier style with the ring but I can't seem to figure out what body they screw into. It's not a 65 or 75. The calligraphy sets with the body and the nibs are quite inexpensive--I should be able to grab a body for a few dollars. But which one?

Thanks.

I have two Osmiroids that use the easy-change nibs. My understanding is that these nibs fit neither the 65 nor the 75 pens, which are lever operated. My two pens use cartridges and are slightly different on the clip and band. I bought them a few years apart. I suspect that one is the English version, and one is after the factory sold and moved to China.

Not sure if this helps but this chart may be useful / interesting.

Yesterday is history.

Tomorrow is a mystery.

Today is a gift.

That's why it's called the present

I have an Osmiroid Sketch nib, it's an amazing nib, possibly one of my favourites. It's currently in an Esterbrook SJ and works well in there, it screwed in just like a regular Esterbrook nib and gets good ink flow. Other Osmiroid (pre-80s, not the ones that come with the full section) should also work fine.

Looking at John's picture above: what you want is the one on the right with the broad metal band. The rings on your sections will smash caps of the later versions with the purely decorative banding.

It's mainly pens, just now....

Oh, good heavens. He's got a blog now, too.
