I Just Ordered A Hakase...

It is a #15 nib, but it is tuned by Hakase. It has a similar feed and internals as a #15 nib: Hakase pens take Pilot cartridges and convertors. When I ordered my Hakase pens, I had to indicate where I hold the pen, pressure, etc. During my visit in March mr Yamamoto had me write a few things and looked at my handling of the pen as well. In fact, when I ordered my first Hakase, mr. Yamamoto expressed concern that they would not be able to adjust the nib afterwards. Ruud

I should qualify this. The EX models have a #15 nib, the DX models have a size 10 nib. Below is a comparison between the nib on my sandalwood pen and my Pilot Custom 845 (sorry for the lousy focus). Ruud

Any more photos of that Sandalwood pen Ruud? (And also - is that the one on the website that was limited to 50 pieces and has long since sold out?)

Too many pens; too little writing.

Yes indeed it is, I thought I had written a review but could not find it, so I wrote one today.

I believe they call this "going over and above the call of duty". Great review of an amazing pen Ruud - I wish they still had some sandalwood stocks left!

Wow. Congrats mongremeld. I am really excited about my buffalo horn and couldn't be happier to be getting a hakase but the pen you have coming with the tortoise shell was my favorite pen they made. If tortoise shell was doable in the US I would've ordered your pen. I am definitely excited for you !! Edited by Sblakers

Wow! Beautiful. It looks so inviting, so tactile. Many congratulations.

Thank you AAN! It is so lustrous and tactile - so very Hakase...

Thanks. It's MASSIVE. I had to put it beside my buffalo horn (itself a 149-size pen as you know) to give some sense of scale.

Regarding the review - I promise I'll post one when you do one of your Ohasido ;)

Haha. Fair enough :). My pen should be shipping out tomorrow to me.

Thanks! I think that's it for while... not because I'm fed up of Hakase (I still think they make the best pens on earth), but because my bank balance is yelling in protest, and I think I've superficially covered most of the main Hakase styles...

S-so pretty....

So I guess I can expect a review of both, right? :P

that is gorgeous! I love the shape!

Thanks... as seems to be the Hakase tradition, this is completely not at all the pen I was expecting. Not even close...
