Three Oversize Vintage Pens With Flex Nibs

Thanks for the additional nice comments. The ink is the Montblanc 149 ran out. That pen is now flushed and back in storage. Once I get the nib fine tuned in the Morrison, I will invest a little time to get the exterior gently polished. I believe I can make it look a little nicer.

Georges ... Way to go with your 149 if not ready to invest in the steep prices of those very early models. Saw your review and you have a nice pen as well. Nice handwriting, my friend. Enjoy your pen.

Chris ... Even firm nibs are wonderful in vintage Patrician pens. Here are pictures of the Morrison's younger sibling. It is a very small ring-top pen, measuring 4 1/4" long (capped) and 5 3/8" long (posted), but with very attractive celluloid colors and red cones on the ends, pretty much the same color pattern as the "onyx" celluloid color in vintage Watermans.

Thanks for the comments Mauricio!

I filled my Patrician and am falling in love with it all over again! Not flex but wonderfully expressive, and a joy to hold!

I had a pair of Morrison overlays - ring-tops - but they now live in Mexico - if they are still with the buyer! They had lovely nibs but were too small for me.

Each day is the start of the rest of your life!

Make it count!!!

I'll just heap on and say, yeah, this is a fabulous review. Awesome handwriting, I really really love that you did the non-flex vs. flex handwriting. Really cool.

The photography is so good I'm afraid to ask what you use! And for a variety of reasons even!!

A surprise to me was how much I like the Montblanc "Carlo Collodi"... hadn't even considered it!

The nib rankings made no sense to me until I saw the writing samples -- it's a good example of how a picture is worth a 1,000 words.

I am the proud owner of several vintage pens already, including 2 Waterman pens wth pink nibs, Waterman Patrician Moss Agate and Jade Green pens, a Montblanc 144 green striated pen with OBB nib and a rare Montblanc 126PL pen. I have been

looking for good to mint condition Waterman Turquoise pen to add to my collection. I use all my pens daily to practice fountain pen handwriting.

After searching for quite some time and several disappointments, I finally located a Waterman Patrician Turquoise pen and pencil set that is in near mint condition. I think it may have been in a collector's collection and has not been used much.

I bought it right away, even though I don's usually use pencils. I am so happy that I have finally found what I have looking for.

The large Waterman #8 nib has some good flex as well. I will enjoy using it daily.

The next acquisition may be a Montblanc L139 with long window and OBB nib. I know it is very hard to find. Half of the fun is

in the hunt.

Below are some photos of my Waterman Patrician collection.

That's an amazing collection. The third green celluloid looks like some gemstone.
