Today I'm testing my new blue Kaigelu 356. I like it a lot so far!

I'm still waiting on my Kaigelu 356

Just ordered a Boaer 79....

I reckon that's about 6 pens that I should 'charge' to this thread

Jinhao x450. I purchased it in May, however I was disappointed and put it away. Today I inked it up with Waterman Blue, after playing around with some micromesh and now I am happy. It is a smooth, wet writer.

Today it is x450 'Rogue,' loaded with JH Cafe des Isles... and also discovered to my chagrin that the cap is so tight when you pull it off, ink flies. :0

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Are there any sites dedicated to Chinese pens? I am interested in learning more about manufacturers, history, etc.

Today, I am using the Jinhao century.

Thanks

Today I carried the Kaigelu 316, which is one that I dearly wanted to love. Smooth writer, no concerns of any kind - but it will Not adapt itself to my clumsy hand, or writing style (or lack of). Since the world wouldn't wait for me to scribble everything I needed to, I broke out the Noodler's.

Today it's my Kaigelu K323 with Diamine Damson, and I am loving the combo...

But, the Kaigelu K356 has just arrived, and after loading it with Diamine Sherwood Green it is vying for my affections...oh and the Dolce-Vita Naranja is on 'stand by' for when I have need of a 'Blue ink' at the moment it's Diamine Majestic Blue...which I have decided, I really rather llke ....

Richard,

My Kaigelu 356 arrived with a ball bearing in the converter...how do you get it out?

( I cannot find what thread you described how to do it...mine doesn't seem to want to just pull 'apart'....anything further I feel will result in irrepairable dameage :crybaby:

I just prized up one edge of the black centre of my c/c with a fingernail (though a pen knife blade would do), then puched the c/cpiston down until it was under a bit of load. Then followed the raised edge around the c/c prizing it up all round. Once it was 3/4 done a small twist of the piston popped the rest off. It goes back together very easilt by pressing it together.

Finally started using a bunch of Hero pens I bought some months ago ... stainless and burgundy 100s, a few each of the 616 jumbo, 329 and 330 models. These are my first Chinese pens, except for a Hero calligraphy pen I've had for a while. All of them wrote well from the start, after a preliminary flushing. No surprise about that because I bought them from hisnibs.com and isellpens.com, plus an eBay vendor that people here speak highly of. I have a few dozen pens, including some high-dollar ones, but these great little cheapies are every bit as much fun ... and as writing tools, as good as anything else I have. I don't expect they'll be as long-lived as my Watermans and Parkers, but given their cost, so what? Loading them with Lamy black, Noodler's Eternal Luxury Blue and Diamine Macassar.
