Utter nonsense. Every (Chinese) fountain pen that looks like a cigar doesn't mean it is a knock off.

You can't stand it that Chinese fountain pens are as good as overpriced Western/Japanese pens.

My last comments on this subject, as the thread should return to its main purpose and subject. I don't know where you are getting this. You seem blinded by your devotion to some of these Chinese pen brands and are prepared to defend them at any cost. However, I assure you, reality is not overrated and truth does matter. And the only thing I can't stand is nonsense (and baseless accusations).

There are so many differences. The clip is different, the nib is different, the material is different. When you look closely and measure the two you can see that the size is different. Other people worked on it, you can even see that. It's an unique pen, no doubt, like you are an unique human being. What you are is a real secret. :P

Getting a little tiresome here Trom. Just flat out denying a simple fact does not add to the discussion, quite the contrary. It's like saying the Hero 5020 or the Baoer 388 are not "inspired" by the Parker Sonnet. That would be flat out wrong. Because they are.

Anyways, like I said, you can yell this stuff from your rooftop it you like, still doesn't make it true.

My last comments on this subject,

Of course there is no such thing as originality. Everything is inspired. The bottom line is that the LingMo Lorelei is not an exact copy. Isn't that obvious? Of course it is.

Huahong barleycorn cap, fine italic nib, inked with diamine midnight.

Picasso, Black Feeling of Rome, medium nib, inked with diamine majestic blue.

And

Huahong Blue belter, broad, inked with Asa blue.

3 sterling performers.

Today I am using a Hero 616-2 recently bought in Kunming Carrefour with Laoban black ink and a Lanbitou 238 with the copper body also filled with Laoban black ink which is nice and dense.

Both pens write very nicely with a thin line. The aeromatic filler on the 616-2 (appears to be a new version of the 616 and costs more) works better than the usual 616, and the whole pen is much better constructed.

Anybody know anything about the Lanbitou company? seems hard to track down, and the 238 clip is a red eyed dragon exactly the same as used on a Hero 1111 - is there perhaps a connection?

Well the 616-2 differs from the 616 only by the color and the clip ( which now spot a newer design with the Hero name stamped on it ). The pen part of it remain the same. Hero do improve on their recent production that's for sure. Lanbitou is an independent one from all the big name. its not well known simply because its market is the local school / office use mass market and its product line reflect that. The brand had a very limited production capacity AFAIK and most of its range are OEM by others, but the brand do have some original design in their range.

Speaking of that , I do use a Lanbitou 8040 today

Just got these two in TODAY! Jinhao 992 (I also got a plain clear one) and a Baoer 100.

Both were surprisingly good writers right out of the gate. I know Jinhaos are good, but this seems a bit better than the x450 and x750 I have.

I love the look of the Baoer (I'm a bit of a sucker for hooded or unusual nibs), and it writes very nicely. A fine-but-not-too-fine nib.

I dropped my Delike Alpha and destroyed the nib past fixing this time. :crybaby: Luckily, they sell the nibs on Ebay and I have 2 replacement nibs coming.

So far today, I am using a solid green Jinhao 992 inked with Quink green - my students love the demonstrators. :D

My orange and my black Baoer 517s inked with a pumpkin/midnight mix and midnight (Diamine).
