The trio of Guanleming is in my cue to review. Took pics (nowhere near as awesome as those here), need to make notes, post on blog.

I dip-tested each, and they are amazing for the price.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

What sort of filling system do they have? I was thinking about trying one, for the price. I mean, if I decide I really dislike it, I haven't dropped very much money -- I've probably spent more than that eating fast food this week, and certainly more than that in college playing pinball....

I have been using my Jinhao X450 with a Knox K35 extra fine niball week as my go to writer. I am on mysecond converter full of Pilot Namiki Iroshizuku horsetail brown.

After reading the above posts, I just ordered a Guanleming 2001 demonstrator.

Today is the Haolilai 801F. Nice pen with just enough resistance on the page to know its writing

Ted,

I think that pen is the cats pajamas. Of course I have a general liking for thinks with orange in them. (Too rich for my meager earnings.)

They're bulb-fillers with a metal tube protecting the bulb---a lot like the Hero 616. I think for the money they are spectacular buys.

Me too, looks like it "checks a few boxes". The vendor lists the capped length as 4 3/4,

is that correct?

Just bid on a Jinhao X750 and a Baoer 388. Will see if I like either of them. Been using my Hero 3022 still filled with Pelikan Brilliant Black.

Which do you prefer -- the Demonstrator or the Accountant? Particularly, what's the difference between the nibs?

I'm waffling between those two (yes, for the price i could *theoretically* buy both, but there are other pens on my radar as well; and since I didn't win Mega Millions last night -- not one *single* matching number :gaah: -- I've got to save up to fix the leaky roof after all). Not to mention all those ink samples....

On looks alone, I prefer the Accountant. But I haven't inked it yet, just dip-tested.

Both nibs seem similar; the Demonstrator may have a slight edge in smoothness.

Just received a new black Hero 616 Jumbo in the mail today. Inked it up with Noodler's Black, writes and looks great. Total cost shipped: $6.

What Chinese pen are you using today?

None, but close. It's a Vietnamese Thièn Long (Celestial Dragon) FT-02, an c/c used in schools to learn Vietnamese calligraphy, with a 0.3 mm italic nib.

No. Not this one at least. It's 5 3/8 capped and 6 1/2 posted. Though posting isn't solid. I think perhaps there have been changes over time in this pen. One of the early reviews said the nib flexed. This one will flex only with sufficient pressure. And the price has increased over the years. So there may be some changes in design.

I think I'll go back to the keyboard. I can't imagine I could ever approach the beauty of this writing.

You and me both. I was going to post a writing sample of my latest pen but never mind.

This is the pen I should have received instead of the Chinese Calligraphy pen.
