A Jinhao Black Carbon. Pen is very similar to Duke Carbon fiber and the Jinhao 500 but a bit nicer. Well balanced and a very smooth nib.

WenJue. This is a thin line pen with a cigar shape. Reminds me of a Hero 616 in diameter. I have owned this pen for approximately 7-8 yrs. The coloring of the cap/barrel is like a dark brown & antique gold. The pen is attractive, and works well in situations when signatures are required. Ink mixture of my own for today - a combination of (4) Chesterfield inks.

NIBS: The original nib was a bit too scratchy, and ultimately replaced it with a Knox #5 medium nib; two tone; wet; no skipping; has some flex to this nib.

CAP: Gold-tone fittings; snug clip; at the top of the clip is a "crown" symbol; snap cap without a plastic insert. Attractive cap finial.

BARREL: The bottom of the barrel has an attractive scroll design in gold & black, which reminds me somewhat of the Hero 901 scroll work on the top of the cap. When the pen is capped, the scroll work section is in the middle of the pen. Section is a muted chrome, with some smooth threads.

FILLING MECHANISM: A bladder-like converter encased in a plastic housing; removable. Pen company name on the converter.

WEIGHT: 28g capped - 18g uncapped

LENGTH: Posted 6"

Capped 5 1/2"

A blue twist Jinhao x450.

I've been doing some nib adjusting - it was a bit scratchy and skipped.

Now it writes like a charm.

Unfortunately I don't get to keep this one (I already have one, though. And four other x450s. They're nice pens *shrugs*) because I promised it to a friend of mine whom I got interested in fountain pens again.

She got to pick an ink from my collection, because I needed to ink it up to do some testing, and she chose Standardgraph Burgundy, which was unexpected, but ended up looking surprisingly impressive.

Thank you, Helen.

The Bock fine nib (ordered online from Beaufort Ink) really transforms the pen - I will probably pick up the medium and broad nibs in size 6 to have a play with (along with a size 5 for the 601).

That blue ink in the 5028 is really lovely.

A Jinhao Black 159 with a Goulet Fine nib and Iroshizuku Ama-Iro ink. A wonderfully smooth flowing combination....Love the size of this pen, too!

That's one nice looking nib.

So good to support Brian and Rachel also - A business though it is, they do so much for the community, and I value that greatly.
