Really enjoying my recently acquired Hero 1000. Good quality. Not the cheapest Chinese pen at $33 USD, but well worth it. Now one of my everyday users.

I just got a second K316 white stir;s in the mail. I can confirm that the new model has much different and more swirls. The white plastic is more opaque and you cannot see the CC filler through the pen anymore. Still has the heavy finial.

Maybe it's time to get my final two K316's. I want a user of each colour, and a pristine one. So far the only pristine one I have is the Amber/Grey. My user charcoal has been used so much the plating has gone beyond 'tired' and into 'missing, presumed dead'.

Regards,

Richard.

Started out with the Jinhao 1200, however, my Jinhao 886 (pocket pen) arrived today. After some serious nib smoothing and making the nib wetter, I have been writing with it all afternoon, using my Rhodia Dotpad. After smoothing with 8000 and 12000 micromesh, I've got a pretty nice writer. Makes a nice pocket/purse pen. Clip is a bit tight, however, I was able to clip it onto a pocket without a challenge. No scratching, with only minimal feedback. #5 medium nib. Though covered in metal, inside of barrel looks plastic, along with the section. I can only see a metal screw at the very top of the inside of the barrel. I wonder if the barrel could facilitate the pen being used as an eyedropper. If it can be used as an eyedropper, it looks like it might hold 2-2 1/2 ml. of ink. It has a screw cap, which is interesting for a pen that cost me $2.49 with free shipping.

Size 4 7/8" & weight 21 grams. Comes in: Black, red, yellow, lime green & champagne gold. Jinhao 886 Spiderman Series comes in: Dark blue, wine red & black.

Glad to see that everyone who has a problem with a hard starting Jinaho or Baoer

pen is advised to Flush completely several times using a mild Amonia plus a small drop of dishwashing liquid, I have been advising people to do that for so many

years now that I have been associated with Jinhao as I used to write their

descriptions for them and even had the priviledge of naming a number of their pens when I was involved with them, therefore can I recommend one of their best

examples of penmanship it is the Abalone pen or as it is sometimes called the

Mother of Pearl, which will take your breath away check it out {I have three of

them}

TrustMe. oneill

I have that one as well. I agree it is a very attractive pen. Too heavy when posted, but unposted, it does not present a problem for me (I have small hands). I have had mine for about 8 yrs, and I have had no problem with chipping. The furnishings are still intact. It is the type of pen that will attract questions. A unique clip, with some springiness. The #6 nibs allows for nib exchange. Thinking of purchasing a Goulet 1.1 stub for it. Not the pen I would use for 3-5 hrs of writing, but for the normal daily activity, it is a nice pen.

Lime Green Jinhao 886 with Sheaffer Skrip Green (not a good match in terms of colour though)

Kaigelu 316 Blue/Black with Diamine Denim (which is a good match)
