Can anyone here identify this UK made 45? It has a blue metal body with a wonderful B nib.

That box looks very sad on it's own :crybaby:

Do you want me to send you a Parker 45 to fit in it ?

What a beautiful collection. I have a few only (5). All fighters, because that is what I like. Can I ask you. Couple of quick questions please!

1. The fighters with a button (or do you call it a tassie) at tha end of the barrel feel heavier and in my case at least seem to be better made than the ones with no button at the end. Even the threads of these feel cheap and grate while closing the barrel. Do you have the same feel?

2. What would / should be the price of all gold with black button end barrel, straight lines pattern? I am asking because I amtaken with that pen but the only one I could find is being sold for about $220 NOS condition. Do you think that to be a good price, a deal or too expensive?

Thanks

Indeed a beautiful collection, of which you should be proud to have put together. I haunt charity shops. It is amazing what can be found there. Recently I saw a "job lot" of a P21 with a burgandy barrel, gold filled cap burgandy P45 and a late 1940's early 1950s black body and gold faced Shaeffer Valiant. All had good nibs so I picked them up for a total of $A10. The P21 turned out to be a P51 with a P21 barrel. I was told the P45 "blobs ink". The nib needed screwing in properly. The P51 has a magnificent nib . The P45 is a fun pen and even the original rubber converter is in good nick.

Best wishes

I put together this set. The base came from eBay, obviously somebody's home-built job. Then I found a pen to fit it at the Portland Pen Show a few years ago.

I think it is cool looking, something different from the usual Parker mass production line.

Yes, that's exactly why I bought the base. It came with a Sheaffer Touchdown pen which did not fit properly so I had to find a base for that pen as well as finding a pen for the propeller base. Since I enjoy boating the little marine propeller makes me smile every time I look at it public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

I've got several 45's. No real high cachet ones like the Tx (would like, give me please) or Coronet but a few UK Arrows, USA Deluxei, a NOS all stainless Flighter and a Gold end, GT Flighter.

Where some of mine differ from the status quo a bit is they can do tricks. After being trained by Mike Mausyama or Pendleton Brown.

Yeah, OK, I paid as much for the trick training as I did the pen but I also ended up with a very sturdy, perfect writing vintage pen with a gold nib ground and flowed exactly like I like it. For around $50 or so. That works just fine for me.

Don't know if it is original Parker, but it looks right enough.

Parker 45s (along with my Parker 21s) have been my all-around daily writers for several years now. Inherited a few from my Dad. 45s are very smooth writers and are "wet" writers with good ink flow, I've never had skips when writing with 45s. They are pretty reliable.

Guys, show us your 45s.

Why not?

Why not indeed!

Here are "some" of mine.
