Waterman 14 With Falcon Nib -- Any Info?

Was wondering if anybody had seen a Waterman falcon nib. I got this pen at the Ohio show from a collector who'd bought it from the Michael Fultz collection. I had never seen one, nor had any of the people he passed it around to. It's a mottled 14. The #4 nib has a falcon shape and oval vent hole. The imprint is like the curved New York imprints 1907-1918 in Fischler and Schneider, p. 14, though I'm not sure if it's more like the small or the large variants shown there. The vent hole is not like any other I've seen on a Waterman, though you do see it on dip nibs and on a few other fountain pens. If anybody has seen one of these nibs, can you tell me in what pens and in what sizes, or if there's any catalogue info that would tell me if the nib had a special purpose or anything. Thanks.

Rob, it's a fully catalogued item, appearing in several Waterman catalogues over the years. Only offered as a #4, I've never seen an example in any other size. I've owned a few, and I think at least some of them are stamped in relief with the saddle-like pattern typical of steel Falcon nibs (though I might be getting confused with some other makers' Falcon nibs, as I've been putting away this sort of unusual nib for years, regardless of maker).

Sorry, no pictures handy for mine at the moment. I also had an example in a plain black holder, no cap, in a large load of pens that went missing in shipment back in April.

I have a BHR 14 with a Falcon nib which sounds like the second 'type' David describes.

The nib is not in great shape, but when I saw it, I grabbed it right away. I've seen these in the catalogs, but this one is the only I had then seen in person.
