Noodler's Ahab Setup For Beginners

Hi guys,

 

saw a youtube video yesterday about the Ahab ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5TArE53q3U

 

Don't think I've read this tip (starting at +- minute 29) about 'heatsetting the ebonite nib' ;

 

- boil some water, put nib and feed in the water for about 20 seconds and then take it out and press the nib firmly to the feed for also about 20s ?

 

Has anybody tried this ?

It is fairly standard procedure in several situations with many pens. Just search for "heat setting" and you'll find tons of details.
