Platignum Converter

Does anyone know where I can get a converter for a Platignum Studio 5? I'm in Australia but I'm willing to order from overseas as long as the converter is a guaranteed fit. The place I bought the pen from here cannot supply cartridges or a converter I wish I'd known before I bought the pen!

I have no experience of this but you may want to see if regular International cartridges might fit

The Pen Fountain converter looks like the way to go. I'd better check out the full site for other purchases to make the shipping worthwhile. Once again, thanks.

And do not forget that once you have purchased cartridges suitable for your pen, each used cartridge may be re-used for a quite a good number of times by refilling with your favourite ink by means of a syringe.

I believe that Platignum pens take international standard converters and cartridges - definitely worth a try. I have a couple of Platignum pens that have a nice quality feel to them, especially considering how inexpensive they were, but I haven't yet tried anything in them other than the cartridges with which they were supplied.

Unfortunately, they don't. Long standards (eg Waterman) will fit but not shorts nor standard converters. The problem is the inside diameter of the section is too small to take either a standard short cartridge or a standard converter. Long standard cartridges will fit as they are slimmer than short standard cartridges. Platignum makes its own cartridges, BTW.

I haven't been able to source any cartridges locally either but according to Cult Pens "Platignum have not actually launched any ink cartridges or bottled ink to go with their fountain pens. However the following items are suitable for use with these pens." They say that the long Pelikan cartridges fit and a Faber-Castell converter. On the other hand PenFountain recommend their own converter.

 

I'd just go ahead and buy both if they were local and see which fits but the shipping costs are more than twice the cost of the converter. No doubt I will have to make the leap in one direction or another unless I can find someone who is actually using a converter or replacement cartridges in a Studio 5. Meanwhile, yes I do use a syringe to refill the ones I have. I've even gone to the Platignum site but their new site is still under construction. I'm more than a little peeved that the original seller can't supply either cartridges or a converter yet they continue to sell the pens with no suggestions as to where to source the items. The only info I received on questioning them was to try to find a Waterman converter.

I have now found a supplier of cartridges at least in Melbourne, Australia. They are Manifesto-Brands and are the Australian home of Platignum pens

I'd love to know if these cartridges and the Faber-Castell converter will fit a Platignum Silverline pen. I have one with a real nice medium italic Calligraphy nib which is writing beautifully. At the moment though the only converter I have for the pen is the old style squeeze type which is rusty and does not allow you to see ink supply. Thanks.

I have the Platignum 'Vibe'' which is a fairly modern (2yr) FP, and I thought the only cartridge that fits it is the one supplied.

But just now (6 Jan 2015) tried a short 'International' cartridge which fits fine.

Here are the Platignum cartridges and modern deluxe Platignum converter. I say moden because it is not the type of converter that is fitted in my somewhat vintage Platignum pen the picture of which can be seen in my post above.
