My Collection Of First Gen Os Vacs

Rajesh

Recommended Posts

Dear all,

Recently i have been collecting some First Gen Oversized Vacs. As of now i have been rather lucky to add all the colours expect the Emerald Pearl. All the other four varients measuring 5, 3/8 inches have been collected in a comparatively short time frame. Bought all of them from ebay and at reasonable prices.

They are all in working condition and without cracks and dings.

Here are the prices i paid for each of them:-

1) Golden Pearl 243 USD

2) Black Pearl 100 USD

3) Black 240 USD

4) Burgundy Pearl 213 USD

The prices are inclusive of P&P.

Now awaiting the elusive Emerald Pearl!

congrats on a nice selection of oversized vacs

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Sounds like we might be battling on eBay soon (I'm missing the green too):

The black and the silver pearl are actually the old style opaque.

So for a complete collection I need an opaque burgundy, a transparant green, a transparent silver and a transparent black...

And that's just the Oversizes...

There are a few other versions of the big ones to hunt down, from the top

Oversize

Vac-banded Senior Maxima

Senior Maxima

Maxima with metal filler and broad cap band

Maxima with plastic filler and thin cap band

All in five colours each!

This is going to get expensive ;)

Very nice. A picture of my 1st gen. OS vacs would just be a picture of one. A red one with the pencil. :)

And the end of all our exploring

Will be to arrive where we started

And know the place for the first time. TS Eliot

Man, look at those colours, aren't Vacs great?

I have a few Canadian Vacs with solid 9K or GF broad bands, I think they are really beautiful.

For those of you trying to find all the variations let me throw one other version out there. The oversize desk pen. It used the same screw on taper that the Duofold Senior desk pens used. Not the best photo I have ever taken, but here is the only one I have ever found - oversize golden brown with lock down filler and oversize taper that screws on like the blind cap would. Steve
