In my experience Bleu Pervenche is too blue for what I'm looking for. I think I've settled on the mix of Vert Reseda and Daphne Blue, but I have Diamine Soft Mint on the way, so I will see how it stacks up.

I like that mix; I may have to try it myself! I was also wondering whether De Atramentis Pigeon Blue would work, but it may be a bit too dark.

Good call on De Atramentis Pigeon Blue. I tried it on Shaylen's recommendation. It's a really interesting ink, but to my eye a little too flat to give the Tiffany Blue feeling. I'm getting more, however. It's a neat ink with interesting shading.

That's good to hear, since I just ordered a sample of it. And Vert Reseda/Daphne Blue, so as to attempt Shaylen's mixture.

Also... Shaylen, you always have interesting avatars. It went from Old Gregg to the Alot, both of which are rather esoteric pop culture references that I recognize! :)

I agree with the Pigeon Blue assessment. I think it is a very nice color, but not quite enough "oomph" for "Tiffany" blue. More of a muted wintery color than the pick-me-up of T&Co, but lovely nonetheless. I wished I'd had it to sign my holiday cards with.

...And thanks! I get a little kick out of trying to find new and interesting ones! I have ALOT of love for Old Gregg and Hyperbole and a Half!

So there's the side-by-side of the mix, Pigeon Blue and Steel Blue. It's not a great picture, but you get a slight idea of how they differ.

Great thread; I think the custom mix looks the closest so far.

I have Diamine Soft Mint and I would say it's far too green to be a match for Tiffany Blue. It reminds me of an even greener Diablo Menthe. I think a mix of Diamine Beau Blue and Soft Mint may do the trick.

Ooh, I like them all. And soon I shall have them all! :hmm1:

That emoticon is as close as I could get to the goatee-stroking evil mastermind kind of idea. "Muahaha!" and all that.

I like to live on the wild side. I've had a batch mixed up for quite some time, and I've yet to spawn life or enrich uranium.

If it does enrich uranium, be sure to let me know - I'm working on a little cold fusion side project in my spare time ;)

It's spot-on, Shay. I have the little blue box charm necklace, (this):

I wore it today and as I was taking notes in a meeting this morning, the girl next to me said, "Wow, your ink matches your necklace!" :cloud9:

That's awesome. I compared it with my Blue Box when I did it, an it seemed to match pretty well. Now all you need is the nail polish and you'll be set!

I was surprised at how great the shading was. Given, both its "parents" are great shaders, but it really came through in the mix. Yey! Is it shading for you in the pen you're using?

Yes! I am using it in a medium Waterman Hemisphere on a Rhodia notebook and am seeing excellent shading. Sooooo pretty! I will be buying the two inks that make it so that I can make my own once I run out.

Awesome. Now, I suppose I should allow a disclaimer for the fact that I can't guarantee that it won't eat the feed of your pen (I didn't pH test it)... um, but yeah. The Safari I had it in is fine.

Diamine Mediterranean Blue might be a match?

I like the idea of matching ink to other things. My wife has a nail varnish that closely matches my favourite Mont Blanc Violet / Lavender ink.

Here's some more pictures for the curious:

First a comparison of 4 contenders, Soft Mint, My mix, Pigeon Blue, and Steel Blue. It's raining today, so I'm doing the best with my lighting situation. It's not picking up on how green these look in person.

For those of you looking to mix, here's a comp of Soft mint and Vert Reseda. They're nearly identical looking to me, the SM might be a bit more saturated. It's also much cheaper! Again, the camera is NOT picking up the green in the colors properly, and this pic drove my white balance nuts. In this picture, THESE look like perfect Tiffany Blue, but in person they are too green. So, FWIW, here ye be:
