I agree on the Levenger Cardinal Red. Very good Xmas red.

Also I have a Pelikan M200 with a 0.8mm stub italic nib which contains Noodler's Cayenne and I think it is a very red-orange which does it also very nice on the cards. Especially the shading is outstanding.

Keep writing.

Keep doing it and doing it.

Even in the moments when it's so hurtful to think about writing.

Actually, for a red I mixed Noodlers/Swisher's Devil Red (waterproof component), Diamine Monaco Red, and Waterman Red.

I have a large stock of Rotring Brilliant Red in both bottles and cartridges. It's always been my favorite red, and when I use it up, I may have to stop using red. :crybaby:

As Christmas comes, it is time for both a green and red poll !

Which is your favourite Christmas RED ink and do you tend to use red or green or both for writing cards and letters?

I made a mix of MB burgundy and Sheaffer red that I used on the 80 or so cards we sent out this year. Did it using a desk pen that makesme want to have Docnib sell me another

I have only tried Diamine Claret cartridges (in my Reform Demo) and Noodler's Emperor Red in my Waterman Phileas. I wasn't really wild about either one. The Claret is too "fuschia-ish", and the Emperor Red is way too understated. I don't want it jumping off the page at me, but to have more "brightness" to it.

Last week I finished signing and addressing my Xmas cards with MB SG Red, 07 "with vanilla scent". I agree the scent was cheap but I really like the red ink. I also used PR Spearmint Green. It made a nice combination in a VP cursive italic with the MB in a Pelikan 200 stub italic. I hope the recipients will enjoy my efforts. Happy Holidays to all.

Rasputin, it sounds like you and I had similar ideas. I was using a Waterman Phileas w/ a .9mm cursive italic nib, using Noodler's Emperor Red, and a Danitrio Tac Carry II w/ a stub nib, using Diamine Emerald Green. I did add the touch of red wax poinsettia seals to the envelope flap.

Tony,

I think those red wax seals add a nice touch.

Yes, it looked very nice. I'm sure I will get knee deep in that too, just like I have the FP's.

Hi, fellow FPN-ers. I have been away on this forum for a while, too busy :-(.

I do not know Noodler's Emperor Red. Is it a fairly new colour? How does it compare to Noodler's (standard) Red?

Keep writing.

Keep doing it and doing it.
